Horizon Forbidden Westreceived its first DLC expansion earlier this week and players have quickly noticed a new gay romance option for Aloy in the DLC.TheBurning Shoresexpansionwhisks Aloy to the game’s post-apocalyptic interpretation of Los Angeles and tasks her with battling the ominous Nemesis machines. The expansion includes a plethora of new characters alongside the newly-introduced area to explore, along with a variety of new weapons. Now, players have noticed a particular connection between Aloy and newcomer Seyka.
Horizon Forbidden Westhas been a success for Guerrilla Games since its launch early last year. Now, Aloy’s newest adventure has a unique twist for its main character.

Fans ofHorizon Forbidden Westhave quickly discovered an optional romantic route withinBurning Shores, featuring main character Aloy and the previously mentioned Seyka. Players are introduced to Seyka early on in the expansion and its story heavily features Seyka and her growing friendship with Aloy. Later within the DLC, players are presented with an optional route to see Aloy pursue a romantic relationship with the new girl. Aloy and Seyka’s relationship serves asthe first fully-fledged romantic routewithin theHorizonfranchise.
Aloy’s gay romance with Seyka would not be the first time a major first-party title from Sony has featured a gay protagonist.The Last of Usprotagonist Ellie is fully confirmed to be gay within the games, first revealed to be gay inThe Last of Us' first DLC,Left Behind. The franchise also features multiple other LGBT+ characters in supporting roles, including Dina inThe Last of Us: Part 2and Lev as the first transgender man in a major blockbuster game. Ellie’s homosexuality has also been touched upon inHBO’sThe Last of UsTV series.
