Though it may have gotten off on more than just a rocky start,Cyberpunk 2077’s romances were a beloved part of the game for many. For those who were able to play CD Projekt Red’s most recent game, many fell in love with Judy Alvarez andPanam Palmerspecifically, while the two masculine choices available unfortunately were a bit neglected due to a lesser role in the story.
Having little to do withCyberpunk 2077’s false start, however, was the issue players faced with its limited romance options. Despite how well Panam and Judy’s stories may have been written alongside V’s tragic tale,Kerry Eurodynewas the only male option for players using the masculine voice-over, and many felt that River Ward’s romance and storyline were lackluster. In general, neither of them received the dedication and attention that Panam and Judy did.

Aside from that, many players were also disdained with the low number of romance options available to V as well as the lacking one-night stands they could have, as implied by an earlier demo ofCyberpunk 2077. Meredith’s one-night stand is a great and unexpected ending to a side mission, however, aside from her, players could only have this kind of relationship with the few Joytoys found in Night City. Unfortunately,Cyberpunk 2077’s massive 1.5 changes and improves its romances only a minute amount, though some players may find them enjoyable for the short amount of time that they will last.
Cyberpunk 2077’s Changes to Romance
There’s a sea of improvements inCyberpunk 2077’s large 1.5 update, and among them are changes toCyberpunk 2077’s romances, some bigger than others. One such change highlights the relationship after players have courted a romanceable partner. Players can woo more than one partner inCyberpunk 2077, though they’re locked based on their written personality (for example, Kerry and Judy are gay), and aren’t “locked-in” until players choose who to call in the game’s final mission.
FollowingCyberpunk 2077’s 1.5 patch, players will be able to sleep in the beds of their partners and wake up next to them, according to CDPR’s lengthy patch notes. This is a small but meaningful change, allowing V to further interact romantically with their chosen significant others after they’ve finished their overall storylines in a way that feels realistic. Aside from that minimal change, players can also experience additional interactions and text dialogues with all four main romantic partners. It doesn’t look like there are new quests for Panam, Judy, Kerry, and River, but players will likely be poking and prodding aroundCyberpunk 2077to find those additional voice lines.
Players may be wondering if there are anynew romance options inCyberpunk 2077. A poll going around the officialCyberpunksubreddit shows that many would enjoy having Meredith, Blue Moon, and Claire added as love interests, and some misleading headlines may make folks believe that there are new romanceable characters onCyberpunk 2077’s list of NPCs. Unfortunately, no characters are newly wooable, as of yet at least. It’s possible thatCyberpunk 2077DLC will bring new additions to the game, but at this point, it might now be too high on CDPR’s list of priorities.
