Livestock’s Bane is one of fiveside quests found in the Grasslands areaofFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthduring the game’s second chapter. Players will gain access to it shortly after wrangling their first Chocobo during the game’s second chapter. To complete it, they’ll need to make use of their Chocobo’s scenting skills to track down a troublesome fiend for a local farmer.
Scents play an important role inFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, with several subsequent side quests making use of them. As such, Livestock’s Bane serves as a great opportunity for players to familiarize themselves with the mechanics in a safe and stress-free environment while also providing them with some pretty decent rewards.

How to Complete the Livestock’s Bane Side Quest in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Players will find the Livestock’s Bane side quest on the Community Noticeboard in Kalm. After accepting it using the X button, they shouldfast travel to Oliver’s Farm, which is to the east of Kalm. Talking to Oliver will reveal that some devilish fiend has been bothering his livestock, prompting him to ask Cloud and the rest of the party to help track it down. Red XIII will try and fail to pick up the monster’s scent, meaning players will need the help of their Chocobo in order to get the job done.
To follow a scent with a Chocobo, players should hold up on the D-pad whenever they see a question mark icon. If they’re facing the source of the scent when they do this they’ll see a trail or a spot on the ground where something is buried. If not, they’ll need to reposition themselves using the right analog stick and then try again. In this case, they’re looking for a scent trail, which they’ll need to follow southeast to a beach on the Grasslands' eastern coastline and a ferocious Grasslands wolf known asthe White Terror.

Beating the White Terror can be a little tricky as the beast has no real weaknesses. With this in mind, players should just hit it with their strongest spells and abilities until it goes down, being sure to dodge whenever it’s lining up a big attack. It’s also a good idea to assess the White Terror, as there’s no way to respawn it. Once they’re done, players can head back to Oliver at the farm. As a reward for slaying the beast, they’ll receive anOwl Bracer,10 Party EXP,400 EXP, and animproved relationship with Red XIII. They’ll also unlockthe Where the Wind Blows side quest, which, like this one, can be found on the Community Noticeboard in Kalm.
