One of the new introductions inElden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtreeare the Smithscript Weapons. These are unique weapons with basic attacks that function the same asother weapons in the same class, but can also be thrown as their strong attack.
The main benefit to throwing these weapons is that a new one will appear in the player’s hand after it reaches its target, giving players an infinite throwing item that also acts as a regular weapon to give players multiple options while only using one equipment slot. One of these Smithscript weapons players can find is theSmithscript Spear; here’s where to get it.

Despite all the requirements and scaling of this weapon, it only does physical damage. Its basic attack is that of any spear, withits strong attack being a throw. A new spear appearing in the player’s hand after throwing is fairly quick and has few drawbacks as long as the enemy isn’t charging straight at you when you throw. Players can also throw the spear while riding Torrent to make up for the short range of the basic piercing attacks.
The Smithscript Spear comes with the skill Impaling Thrust, which is fairly common for spears and works well against enemies with a shield. While it is a unique weapon, players can choose toinfuse the Smithscript Spear withvarious Ashes of Warto change what skill it has access to and itselemental affinity.
Where To Get The Smithscript Spear In Shadow Of The Erdtree
The Smithscript Spear isfound in the Ruined Forge Of Starfall Past dungeon, just south of the Highroad Cross Site of Grace after exiting Castle Ensis. The entrance to the dungeon is located along the back of the largest stone structure in the field full of demi-humans.
After entering the dungeon, pass through the first room with the Site of Grace and travel into the first major room with a gap separating the two sides. The spear is locateddirectly on the other side of the room from where the player enters. Take the bridge along the middle of the room and look to the right to see the dead body with the spear being looted from it.
