Elden Ringfans have had many interesting encounters with the game’s enemies, though one foe that often gets spotlighted is the Cleanrot Knight. Recently, anElden Ringplayer’s encounter with one of these enemies went viral, as they survived its deadliest attack in an incredible way.

Not only doElden Ring’s Cleanrot Knightsboast some flashy armor, but they also have one of the most intimidating grab attacks in the game. The Cleanrot Knight grab sees the Knight impaling the player, and in co-op it can even catch two Tarnished with the same attack. While these stabs do severe damage, it is the throw that is the most dangerous parts of the ability. This is because Cleanrot Knights toss players back instead of just dropping them on the ground after inflicting Scarlet Rot.

ThisCleanrot Knight throwhas seen manyElden Ringplayers tossed to their demise, and in the clip posted by Reddit user DiscoAlchemist, it seems like this exact same thing was about to happen again. When progressing through Elphael, the player cut down a soldier only to be charged at by a Cleanrot Knight. Sure enough, they got impaled and lost half their health, being tossed right over a ledge after the damage was done. With a long drop in front of them, the player was likely sure they were doomed.

However, death was not in the cards for DiscoAlchemist’sTarnished, as they managed to survive the fall thanks to a well-placed tree. Considering how thin the top portion of the plant that the Redditor landed on is, they got very lucky with their positioning. Seeing the shocked player heal up when surrounded by the tree’s foliage is entertaining, as is the moment where they slowly spin their camera around to get a view of their new surroundings.

Alongside over 18,000 upvotes, members of theElden Ringcommunitywere quick to comment on the clip. Redditor the_night_coder commented that “true horror” was found down below, with DiscoAlchemist sharing that they found what they were talking about after they dropped from the tree. For those that have not been to the area, several Royal Revenants can be found, some of the most frustrating and unpredictable enemies in the game. If players do not have a healing spell to use against them, running away is the best option. Another memorable comment suggested leaving a message on the tree for other lucky players.

With manyotherElden Ringclips spotlighting funny deaths, it is nice to see some footage of players surviving every once in a while. The clip is a nice reminder that luck can play a key role in FromSoftware games, though players should not rely too much on this tree when fighting the area’s Cleanrot Knights.

Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
