Marvel Comics has a lot of characters, but few of them have as much character to them as Wade Wilson.Deadpoolthrough portrayals by Ryan Reynolds has become one of the most notable and beloved superheroes in the world, but his history in Marvel Comics is lengthy and his adventures there are well worth exploring for any fans of theDeadpoolfilms.

While some characters have been shown alongside the Merc with the Mouth on the big screen, and others will be inDeadpool 3, such as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, there are a number of others that haven’t been seen in the same film as him but have had their fair share of adventures featuring Deadpool within the pages of Marvel Comics. The impressive list of Deadpool’s associations is topped by a certain few characters that bounce off the crazed mercenary particularly well.

Often when a hit superhero movie showcases the relationship between a duo of superheroes, the transition back into comic books is flawless and notable.Colossus was always an acquaintance of Deadpoolin Marvel Comics to be sure, but after the release of the firstDeadpoolfilm in 2016, they suddenly got a lot closer and have remained so since.

Colossus has infrequently had many of his own stories in the comics, usually making up some sort of X-Men team instead of having solo adventures. In terms of popularity, his relationship with Deadpool has been a huge factor in raising his profile over the past decade. This duo works perfectly together because, like many of Deadpool’s closest allies, Colossus is a true white knight which contrasts hilariously with Deadpool’s renegade style.

It is no surprise to learn that Wolverine and Deadpool have comic book history. These two, who fans are excited tosee together on the screen inDeadpool 3, have run across each other a number of times, often in an uneasy friendship. Initially, the two were able to meet and bond because of their involvement in the Weapon X Program, but later they actually became teammates when Wolverine invited Deadpool to join the X-Force.

The most fun part of the relationship between these two comes when they fight, as both have intense healing factors. Though Deadpool is entirely immortal, he usually gets fairly well beaten by Wolverine, though most of their fights end in stalemates of one sort or another, producing many iconic moments. This duo has been linked together so much that one of the longest-running team-up comics in Marvel history isWolverine and Deadpool.

7Domino

Another character who has been seen on the big screen alongside Deadpool, Domino appeared inDeadpool 2played by Zazie Beetz as part of the X-Force team that Deadpool recruited. Though the character didn’t get a lot of screen timeshe could reappear in the sequel, and fans can see plenty more of the pair together in Marvel Comics as they’ve had a love/hate relationship since the early ’90s. Domino has been kidnapped, aided, and followed loyally by Wade Wilson over the years.

From taking him on when Deadpool opposed the X-Force in the 90s to working alongside him more recently, Domino’s lucky powers against Wade’s madness and debauchery always make for a fascinating blend. The pair were even introduced in the same issue ofNew Mutantsfor their first-ever appearance, although Domino was actually Copycat in disguise in this issue. Nevertheless, this duo has created a lot of fun over the years as uneasy friends.

An Image of Rogue in X-Men

6Rogue

One of Deadpool’s most surprising love interests in Marvel Comics is actually Rogue, who he has not managed to share the big screen with yet, her morerecent appearances coming in video games. However, this duo became quite a popular if unusual couple during their time working together on the Avengers Unity team in 2012. After beating Deadpool within an inch of his life, Rogue discovered he had feelings for her and shockingly kissed the mercenary.

Despite it only being a fling, the relationship between this pair is significant and has been shown to be important to Deadpool’s character. Rogue didn’t care how her skin changed when touching Deadpool, which was a rare moment of acceptance for him, something that showed how much he could be changed if people were to view him more like she did.

Hydra Bob And Deadpool

5Hydra Bob

As a crazed mercenary, Deadpool can be pretty lonely sometimes, his team-ups with other major superheroes aside, Deadpool is known to be a bit of a lone wolf. This made the comedy of him getting a sidekick all the more hilarious, as he did when he joined up with Bob, an agent of Hydra that Deadpool convinced to leave the organization in order to come help him out instead.

Though Deadpool initially tortured Bob into helping him, and he was later referred to as Deadpool’s “pet” Bob has proven to be a valuable addition to Deadpool’s list of allies and a worthy companion or sidekick. Having defeated dinosaurs (accidentally) and helped Deadpool achieve all manner of things in his unique, bumbling style, Bob has proven himself a lovable and strange character in the Marvel Comics mythos.

Spider-Man And Deadpool

4Spider-Man

A hero with a wonderful history alongside Deadpool, as well as some sort of history with nearly every Marvel Comics character,Spider-Man & Deadpoolhave also had their own comic book team-up series in the past. Despite not having appeared on the big screen together thus far, this iconic masked duohas great comic-book chemistry that is both long-lasting and eternally fun.

The fifty-issue comic book series pairing the two up began in 2016 and was intensely strange. Deadpool loved teaming up with Spider-Man while Peter Parker was cautious and even disgusted by Deadpool, though Wade did start killing less and holding himself to a higher standard in his attempts to properly befriend Spider-Man. Secretly, of course, Deadpool had been hired to kill Peter Parker, putting an extra strain on their relationship. The duo and their differences have become one of the most notable pairings in Marvel Comics over the past decade.

Blind Al And Deadpool

3Blind Al

As shown in theDeadpoolfilm, Blind Al has always been one of Deadpool’s closest companions. Their initial history began when, as is usual with Deadpool, he was hired to kill her and decided not to do it. Years later, they moved in together and since then, Al has acted as a sort of housekeeper/parental figure/antagonistic local towards the mercenary.

Though Al is a blind old lady, she has a strange and unexplained past, having at some time been involved in the British Secret Service. She is quippy and fits perfectly with theDeadpoolstyle, even though she doesn’t appear initially like she should be anything like him.

Cable And Deadpool

2Cable

By far and away the best superhero friend of Deadpool, Cable has appeared alongside Wade Wilson in a huge variety of media, from team-up comics to being on actual superhero teams together, and most recently starring alongside him in the form of Josh Brolin inDeadpool 2.

Cable is a time-traveling mutant from the futurethat teamed in a comic book series in 2004 with Deadpool, saving both of them after their individual series were both canceled. Since then, they have become almost synonymous with each other.

Weasel And Deadpool

1Weasel

Nobody has been more of a consistent supporting character in Deadpool’s comic book history than Weasel, who was played by TJ Miller in the Deadpool movies. Weasel is another character that is frequently mistreated by Deadpool and is considered many things by the mercenary, including occasionally his best friend.

There have been a number of ways in which Weasel has helped Deadpool over the years, mostly as an arms dealer and job finder, he is responsible for a lot of the work that Deadpool gets into. Interestingly, Weasel was actually a high school classmate of Peter Parker’s in his original origin.
