While BioWare has declined in popularity due to lukewarm releases likeAnthem, theMass EffectTrilogyis considered to be a fan-favorite series — minus lingering critiques about the ending. As a result, many have been interested in aMass EffectTrilogyremaster, but even though EA and BioWare have yet to announce such a project, the flames continue to be fanned by releases such as aMass Effect Trilogyart book releasing next year.
A book calledThe Art of the Mass Effect Universewas published by Dark Horse in 2012 to coincide with the release ofMass Effect 3, and included concept art alongside developer commentary for all three games. This new 272-page book,The Art of the Mass Effect Trilogy: Expanded Edition, is also being published by Dark Horse and is set to release on June 20, 2025 with pre-orders available now through sites like Amazon.

According to the art book’s description on Amazon, it contains “hundreds of never before seen works of art” and more commentary from BioWare developers chronicling all different parts of the sci-fi series, including its DLC. It will cost $39.99 and promises to carry on the tradition ofDark Horse Comics art books forSuper Mario Odysseyand other games that have become acclaimed by fans.
Though fans are clamoring for a remaster of the first threeMass Effectgames, the series as a whole has not disappeared. Recently,EA releasedMass Effect: Andromedaon Steamto great success, which has left some hopeful for a larger revival following that game’s initially botched launch that left it panned by critics and fans.
Many have also expressed interest in seeing the series continue onto next-generation consoles. Because no announcements have been made on that front, a potentialMass Effect 5is believed to be a long time awayif in development at all, so the upcoming art book may be the only bastion of newMass Effectcontent fans have for some time.
That said, BioWare is not quiet on the game development front overall. The developer has been working on revampingAnthem, andDragon Age 4was teased during EA Play 2020as a next-generation title currently in the works. If the upcoming art book is successful, this alongside theAndromedaSteam release may open the door to new potential for the series.
