One player that goes by the username The_Conductor7274 has posted to the r/Minecraft subreddit questioning why the game doesn’t allow minecarts to be linked together to form a train. The_Conductor7274 notes that trains can be found in both the story mode and in thepopular spinoffMinecraft Dungeons, as well as the materials being available in the player’s inventories. If players do try to build a train with multiple carriages, they cannot link them together as a chain won’t connect directly to the outside of the minecarts.
At the time of writing, the post has gained over 22k upvotes and has sparked a debate in the comments. Fans of Mojang’s world builder have commented that while an official train would be a nice addition, players are still able to transport goods by placing a furnace on the tracks, allowing it to push other minecarts forward.
The next huge update will be theanticipated 1.21 update forMinecraftthat is set to launch in 2024, and with it, players will see a host of adjustments to Trail Chambers, Copper blocks, and select Biomes within the game. The extent of the update hasn’t been fully revealed, so while it is unlikely gamers will see changes to minecarts, it cannot be fully ruled out.
