AMinecraftplayer has made an interesting underwater base out of a shipwreck they found at the bottom of an ocean. Even thoughMinecrafthas released new spinoff titles such as theDiablo-likeMinecraft Dungeonsand the recent action strategy gameMinecraft Legends, vanillaMinecraftremains its most popular title by far as it continues to see updates and additions to this day.
One of the many joys ofMinecraftis that each new world is procedurally generated, meaning players can go off on adventures to find villages, temples, and many more types of unique structures across the game’s numerous biomes. One such structure are shipwrecks which can spawn at the bottom of any type of ocean environment, even on theshores ofMinecraft’s beaches. Since fully submerged shipwrecks can be tough to find with limited air capacity while underwater in Survival mode, players can find dolphins and feed them raw cod or salmon to have them lead the way to the nearest underwater structure.

Reddit user nodatron242 posted a minute-long clip to theMinecraftsubreddit showing off a sunken shipwreck that they had come across which they’ve turned into a habitable underwater base. This was clearly all done inMinecraft’s Survival mode, as the player began losing air bubbles while underwater and started taking damage. Approaching the shipwreck, most of its exterior was largely left alone aside from some fences and lanterns.
Upon entering the door to the living quarters the player stopped taking drowning damage since underwater doors block water, even when left open. From the bedroom they continued down some stairs into a larger room filled with chests, furnaces, and a crafting table; all the essential structures needed tothrive in anyMinecraftbase. Just outside the room was a framed map of the world on the wall indicating that this shipwreck base is situated on the top leftmost corner of the world and that most of this particular world has yet to be uncovered. The player then descends a long ladder and walks through a smooth stone corridor to what is presumably their mining cave which is filled with purple amethyst.
WhileMinecraftcan offer players a satisfying survival experience, it achieves much of its charm by letting the player bend the rules of reality. Having dolphins lead players to underwater structures by feeding them fish or making it so that placing doors can block water, acting as an airlock threshold into a breathable room at the bottom of the ocean are just two examples ofMinecraftbending the rules in the name of promoting creativity, even in Survival mode.
