It starts with a rather realistic and gritty desert environment, inhabited by realistic, but still fantastical, creatures roaming around. As a storm starts brewing, it cuts to a hunter being chased while riding atop his bird-like mount, similar to the series' Palamutes. They carry one ofMonster Hunter’s Great Swords, though they carefully navigate themselves around their enemies rather than try to take them all at once.
While the hunter is avoiding combat, the trailer shows a storm that can strike at a moment’s notice. This likely means having the player prioritize on avoiding the weather and lightning strikes when it happens, along with the monsters that are attacking them.Monster Hunter Wildsalso shows great environmental traversal opportunities, such as being able to leap nimbly across rocks to get to a higher part of a mountain, or using their mount to glide through the air.
