While the world ofRed Dead Redemptionis full to the brim with gritty outlaws and ruthless murderers, many characters are pretty innocent in their way. This is a rarity, given the brutal nature of the world and its residents.
7Bonnie MacFarlane
A kind-hearted woman who took care of John Marston after he was badly wounded, Bonnie MacFarlane is a stand-up character and one of the best people that players interact withduring the events ofRed Dead Redemption. However, her kindness is taken advantage of when Bill Williamson and his heinous gang decided to kidnap her for their nefarious purposes.
This results in her being badly beaten and almost hanged before John comes to save the day. Following the death of Dutch Van der Linde, John goes back to the ranch and helps run it with Bonnie’s help. It’s widely believed that this woman had romantic feelings for Marston, but his status as a married man prevented her from making any serious advances.

6Hosea Matthews
While he may have committed his fair share of crimes, Hosea is a saint compared to most of the other heinous people inRed Dead Redemption 2. He preferred using elaborate schemes to cheat rich people out of their money instead ofresorting to violence, making it easy to see why Dutch held him in high regard.

However, it was his untimely death that truly sent Dutch over the deep end, marking the end of his charismatic authority over the gang. With Hosea’s death, Micah Bell planted his treacherous claws over Dutch, leading to the group being fragmented for good.
5Abigail Marston
Abigal is John Marston’s wife and the mother of the young Jack Marston. Her love and care may seem overbearing in a gun-ho world, but it stems from a place of love for both her husband and her son. She’s a loving character who takes care of John every step of the way, and watching her run away as her husband sacrificed his own life to save her is one of the most emotional moments in the entire series.
She has her fair share of problems withMarston not playing a more active role as Jack’s father. However, despite all these issues, she’s still one of the most compassionate women in the entire series and can take care of herself.

4Charles Smith
An honorable member of Dutch’s gang who wastes no time in establishing himself asone of the most likable characters inRed Dead Redemption 2, Charles is a character that players will be intensely protective of. He detests violence and uses it as a last resort if things don’t go according to plan.
During the epilogue, he plays a crucial role in helping John and Sadie get their revenge on the traitorous Micah Bell. His generous and noble nature makes him a rare shining gem that is full to the brim of horrible degenerates who only look out for themselves.

3Eli
Eli is a deputy who is extremely serious about doing his job properly andcatching as many bad people as possible. He wastes no time in proving just how effective he is, with his strength and gun skills being quite impressive indeed.

As one of Marshal Johnson’s most valuable men, it’s easy to see why he’s held in high regard for his admirable qualities. He may look somewhat goofy, but he’s an honest and shy individual who seems more like a gentle giant than anything else.
2Uncle
Uncle seems like a lost cause, given how everyone admonishes him and never really gives him a moment of rest for his lumbago, especially Marston himself gives him a hard time. He’s a petty thief who tried to reform his ways, joining the Van Der Linde gang and devouring their alcohol supply over and over again.
However, this drunk had his heart in the right place, and genuinely regrets the life of crime he led up to this point. He may not be a reformed angel by any stretch of the imagination, but Uncle is still a loyal man who sacrifices his own life to save the Marston family as well.

1Leigh Johnson
A no-nonsense marshal who follows the letter of the law to a T, Leigh Johnson is a great character who personifies what an old-fashioned lawman would be like. However, he’s extremely obstinate about maintaining law & order, going so far as to team up with outlaws like Marston to work toward the greater good.
He’s a strong man who works in a thankless job and is constantly doubted by the same people he should be protecting. However, he never complains andtries to keep his district as safe and hospitable as possible.
