Jason Voorhees, believe it or not, is a fighter inMultiversusandthrows down with other characterslike Jake the Dog or Marvin the Martian. It’s a bit odd to see him in such a bright and colorful fighting game, but that’s sort of exactly what makes it so great to have him inMultiversus. And, as a fighter, Jason is pretty strong. He’s incredibly tanky,not too complicated to learn, and has some pretty absurd combo potential in the right circumstances.

While thePerk System inMultiversushas been pretty heavily simplified between the open beta of the game and the full release, Perk choices before a match still do make a noticeable difference, especially Signature Perks. So, let’s go over all 4 of Jason’s Perk Slots and talk about the best Perk recommendation for each one.

Multiversus - Monstrous Sidestep-1

Jason will move behind the nearest enemy in front of him when performing his side special

Monstrous Sidestep is the go-to option for Jason’s Signature Perkonce you unlock him, especially in 1v1s. In 2v2s, you could argue that Resurrectionist is better since it also applies to effect to your ally and it does create some opportunities for surprise comebacks, but in general Monstrous Sidestep is just better for moment-to-moment combat with Jason. Using this Signature Perk allows Jason to do the full-on Coldsteel the Hedgehog classic joke of teleporting behind you, saying ‘nothing personnel, and then absolutely destroying you.

Multiversus - Protective Momentum 2-1

But, even more than that, it just allows Jason to mix his teleport into his combos a lot more since he can do a couple of hits, get the hit from starting the teleport, get right behind the opponent, and continue the combo. It all comes down to what you prefer, but overall Monstrous Sidestep seems to just have more utility.

Your team gains a projectile shield after running on the ground in the same direction for at least 0.5 seconds. If your teammate also selects this Perk, the projectile shield activates faster.

Jason is a tank, and he sure feels like it with how slow this guy moves. There’s a reason most people playing him are constantly teleporting everywhere, and it’s because his base movement speed is pretty slow. So, since he’s either going to be teleporting toward the opponent or walking/running at them menacingly, might as well get a projectile shield out of it with Protective Momentum. You will have to adapt a bit to not jump approaching as much,but onceyou get used to it this Perkactually finds a lot of use on Jason.

Multiversus - Last Stand 2-1

Last Stand

While you have at least 100 damage, knocking back enemies applies Weakened.

Last Stand is pretty muchthe best-in-slot optionfor all of the tankier characters inMultiversus. Whether this is the Tank-class characters or even the Bruisers, Last Stand is incredibly useful for surviving a little longer at high damage and also dealing as much damage to the opponent as possible before getting KO’d.

Multiversus -Pugilist-1

Typically you’re not going to get a lot of stacks of Weakened on the opponent with this since most tankier characters don’t have a lot of moves that knock opponents back a lot of times in a row, but on Superman or Wonder Woman this Perk is especially good.On Jason Voorhees in particular, it’s pretty helpful and is at least better than the other Strong Perk options.

Pugilist

Your melee attacks deal increased damage.

Pugilist, like Last Stand, isthe best-in-slot option for a lot of characters. If the fighter is dealing primarily melee damage (as in melee range, not specifically unarmed attacks) then Pugilist is way better than the other Standard Perk options.

If they deal a mix of melee and ranged, then it’s a bit of a toss-up between Pugilist, Armor Killer, or maybe Second Wind Beneath Your Wings just for survivability’s sake.On Jason, Pugilist is the right choice.There is some argument to be made for Armor Killer when up against opponents who have a lot of Armored attacks such as Superman, but for the vast majority of matches, Pugilist is what works best.

New MultiVersus Update Has Fans Wanting to Save the Game
