Last year, the journalist Jason Schreier affirmed that anewDeus Exwas very early in development. Schreier is very well-connected in the industry and often accurate, so it’s fair to say that the plans for a new game are real. This information came a few months after the Embracer Group bought Eidos Montreal from Square Enix, signaling a possible shift in the studio’s strategy. However, nothing official has been unveiled since then.
In any case, all speculation is based on rumors at this point. For instance, it seems probable that there was a game in development for the franchise last year. However, it’s unclear whether the project has been canceled or is continuing.
