With so many successful MMOs out in the market today such asSquare Enix’sFinal Fantasy 14and Blizzard’sWorld of Warcraft, there is no wonder that other companies want to capitalize on these specific player markets. This is exactly what Amazon seems to be doing with its upcoming MMO,New World. However, with the game’s beta period already accessible to some fans, new glitches are discovered by players every day. Recently, another issue has been found, this time the bug is causing players’ games to crash while they are fishing.
New Worldhas already experienced a series of delays in its development. Announced by Amazon back in 2020,New World’s original release datewas slated for May 2021. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the industry adapting to the current work-from-home environment, the development team seemed to have no choice but to push the game’s release to a later date in 2021. Even so, it seems fans are still highly interested in the new MMO, likely looking for something different to cleanse their palate of the currently available online titles in the gaming universe.

Recently, aNew Worldplayer and Reddit user named TheRealOsamaru posted about an issue they encountered when playing the MMO. They explained that they experienced a bug while they were fishing, and that their fishing pole’s bobber does not disappear or de-spawn. The original poster stated that when there are too many bobbers in the water, there is a chance that the game will crash. This is highly unfortunate, especially for players who are looking to complete some of the fishing quests found inNew World.
Most of the commenters on the Reddit thread agreed with TheRealOsamaru’s experience. Though some of their buggy experiences varied, most of them noticed that their game would noticeably crash only when they were fishing. With this activity seemingly mundane, and not even heavy onNew Worldaction-packed gameplay, it is understandable that players may end up frustrated with the MMO. However, given thatNew Worldis still in its beta period, bugs and issues like these are sure to abound.
Other replies on the thread just gave fellow fans advice to report the bug once they experience it. This way, not only does theNew Worldcommunity provide constructive feedback, but they also help draw attention to various fixes needed within the game. Hopefully the developers take notice of these issues and ensure atop-notchNew Worldgaming experienceonce the MMO launches later this year.
