New World’s launch was not without its issues. Nearly six months later, Amazon now appears confident in the state of the game and is focusing on major content additions for the rest of 2022. The Tempest’s Heart Expedition was recently announced, which will add a major story chapter and a new endgame target for players. Amazon’sNew Worldplans extend well beyond Tempest’s Heart, though. A new 2022 roadmap forNew Worldshows just what players of the MMO have to look forward to.
The content roadmap is split into three different seasonal sections, leaving room for Amazon to shift release dates around as necessary but lacking a specificity thatNew Worldplayers were likely hoping for. Spring, Summer, and Autumn seasons will each include new Expeditions to continueNew World’s story. Then, spread out between the seasons, are new content additions including PvP arenas, special events, new weapons, and even an entirely new territory.

The Spring season forNew Worldhas partially been confirmed previously. Both theTempest’s Heart Expedition, which wraps up the story of antagonist Isabella and provides endgame content requiring item level 550 and the new Blunderbuss weapon, will be arriving soon. Later in spring, Amazon will be adding a substantial PvP update. It will include 3v3 PvP arenas, as well as a PvP rewards track, a substantial new system to encourage PvP among players.
Next, for the Summer season ofNew World, Amazon doesn’t have as robust of plans as it does for Spring and Autumn’s seasons. There’s still a new Expedition, Barnacles & Black Powder. There’s also a special summer event left unnamed. What makes Summer stand out is the addition of a key major feature, though. Amazon will be adding the much-requested, and somewhat controversial,Expedition Group Finder feature.
Later in the year,Amazonhas a variety of major additions planned. The Ennead Expedition will continue movingNew World’s story forward and with it will come the Brimstone Sand Territory, a new region with plenty of exciting new content within. There will also be a new weapon, the Greatsword, two seasonal events including the Halloween-inspired Nightvale Hallow, and also Leaderboards.
Suffice to say, Amazon does have plenty of content planned forNew Worldthrough the rest of 2022. What will ultimately decide whether it’s enough forNew Worldplayers is how substantial those seasonal Expeditions prove to be.PvP rewardsand seasonal events are certain to be key as well, but a steady pipeline of endgame content and story will be whereNew Worldproves its worth.
