Nintendohas confirmed that its next Nintendo Direct presentation will take place on Wednesday, June 21 at 7am PT.Nintendotraditionally hosts a showcase in early June, but it skipped out on the Summer Game Fest events. This led some to believe that Nintendo might hold off on hosting its next Nintendo Direct presentation until some time in September, but others insisted that the next Nintendo Direct would happen in late June or early July.

It seems the insiders and leakers pointing to aNintendo Direct eventhappening in June were right on the money. Now that the leak about the Nintendo Direct happening has been confirmed to be real, it will be interesting to see if the other leaks about it turn out to be true or not.

Anyone that wants to tune in to the next Nintendo Direct event can do so at 7am PT on Wednesday, June 21 for 40 minutes of reveals. Nintendo didn’t confirm what fans will get to see at the show beyond the fact thatPikmin 4will be there. With thePikmin 4release datejust a month away at this point, it makes sense for Nintendo to use the Nintendo Direct presentation to shine a spotlight on the game.

When is the Next Nintendo Direct?

Of course,Pikmin 4won’t be taking up an entire 40-minute Nintendo Direct presentation, so the rest of the show should be announcements for new games and updates on previously-announced titles. Fans should keep their expectations in check, but multiple leakers have stated that a new 2DSuper Mariogame is going to be announced at the Nintendo Direct, with the belief that it will release in November as the company’s big fall game. Other leaks suggest that anewSuper Mariobaseball gameis in development as well and could be announced at the event.

A leaker who accurately leakedEverybody 1-2 Switch’s announcement has suggested that besides a 2DSuper Mariogame, the Nintendo Direct might be used to announce the remake of a classic Super Nintendo title. It’s anyone’s guess as to what that might be, but that same day a different leaker said thatSquare Enix has aChrono Triggerremake in development.

Nintendo fans will no doubt have their fingers crossed about getting anupdate on the long-awaitedMetroid Prime 4, which was first announced six years ago but has yet to receive a proper trailer. Fans shouldn’t get their hopes up about that or any of the leaks until they watch the Nintendo Direct for themselves.
