Not only has Nintendo practically erased the memory of its lackluster Wii U generation, but the Switch is still breaking records today.

According to a recent article on Famitsu, the Nintendo Switch sold 380,000 units in Japan in the month of June. These are the highest figures for June that the system has seen, and it’s a 68% increase from the same month in 2022. These are the kind of sales that are common for a console in its first few years of life, not entering its seventh year of production like the Nintendo Switch.
Not only did the Switch break the sales record for June in Japan, but the system is also on its way to selling 30 million units, which will make it the country’s best-selling console. It’s been a big year for Nintendo so far, with the releases ofThe Super Mario Bros. MovieandThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, so it’s no surprise that more people are picking up the system. And with two more giant releases -Super Mario RPGandSuper Mario Bros. Wonder- releasing later this year, the chances are high that more records will be broken.
