One Piece1070 dropped recently and this week’s chapter was certainly an intense one. Previously, fans saw Luffy and Lucci go all out against each other with Luffy entering his Gear Fifth form while Lucci showing off his awakening for the very first time. The clash went just as expected, with Luffy dominating the majority of it. This week,fans got to see quite a lot of action between Luffy and Lucci, while Vegapunk, the Navy scientist around whom this arc is centered, gave the fans a bit more information about Devil Fruits and their recreation in general.
Expectedly,One Piece1070 was a blast for the fans and while the Egghead Island arc looks like it might wrap up soon, the end of the chapter sets up an even more interesting conflict to come. That and much more was tackled in this week’s chapter of One Piece.
Luffy Vs Lucci Continues
While Luffy and Lucci clashed in the previous chapter, fans knew that it wasn’t the end of the fight as both were far from done. This week, fans got to see a continuation of this fight withLuffy still in his Gear 5th formshowing off what he has developed since the end of the Wano Country arc. Once again, Lucci was not able to land even a single hit on Luffy, as is expected of a fight between a CP0 member and one of the Emperors of the Sea. Luffy, on the other hand, was able to dominate the fight and landed two powerful attacks on Lucci once again.

The first one was Gomu Gomu no Dawn Whip, which sent Lucci crashing into a wall, writhing in pain. When Lucci returned to attack Sentomaru, Luffy intercepted and delivered another powerful blow called Gomu Gomu no Dawn Rocket. This attack was so powerful thatLucci immediately started to lose consciousness. The fight concluded shortly after and Luffy promised Sentomaru that he would get Vegapunk off the island at all costs. While short-lived, the fight was certainly fun and fans enjoyed seeing yet another display of Luffy in Gear 5th and, at the same time, Rob Lucci in his awakened form.
The Strongest Beings
Quite easily the biggest and most important part of One Piece 1070 came when Vegapunk was discussing Devil Fruits with the members of the Straw Hat Pirates. According to Vegapunk,Devil Fruits can essentially be recreatedin some ways. He mentioned Zoans being the easiest to reproduce, as fans have already seen on various occasions. According to him, if he has an unlimited budget, he can even recreate the Mythical Zoan ones, something that he has already achieved with Kaido’s Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, although the Devil Fruit is partially a failure simply because of the pink color. Vegapunk then went on to mention that the Paramecia cannot be reproduced, however, their abilities can be reproduced by using the Lineage Factor of the person who possesses them.
Using the lineage factor of the Paramecia types, he was able to create what he called Green Blood. This green blood is exactly what’s flowing through the veins of the Seraphim. Through this green blood, they can all use the abilities of the original users of those Devil Fruits. In this chapter,fans saw S-Snake use the power of the Mero Mero no Mi, while S-Shark used the powers of the Sui Sui no Mi. The Logia types are very complicated to reduce and Vegapunk did not go into further detail about them. Nonetheless, he already revealed quite a lot about the Seraphims and labeled them to be the strongest of all beings in the world.

Admiral Kizaru Arrives
Previously, fans saw a glimpse of the Navy headquarters where Sakazuki, the Fleet Admiral, stated that the Navy should be sent to Egghead Island immediately and that the CP0 should not engage the Straw Hat Pirates on their own. Admiral Kizaru was then revealed to have set sail towards Egghead island. Towards the end of this chapter, Kizaru appears to be closing in on the island. He has a giant fleet with him and plans to launch an all-out attack on the Straw Hat Pirates in an attempt to kill Dr. Vegapunk and also stop the Yonko crew. At the same time, Lucci has completely gotten rid of Sentomaru, meaning the control of the Seraphim now passes over to the CP0.
The Straw Hat Pirates look to be in a bind as they are surrounded from all sides. It will be extremely interesting to see how they combat this situation. However, it is to be remembered that this crew has monstrous fighters on their side as well. Other than Luffy, they also have Zorro, Sanji, and Jinbe, along with Nico Robin. What’s more, Jewelry Bonney is also accompanying them.
