It sees the Straw Hat Pirates being targeted by the Navy in what isbeing called the Egghead Incident. With such major incidents going on, it is only natural that a few character deaths will happen in this arc. In fact, this arc has already seen two characters perish and there is likely more to follow.
Currently,Egghead Island is in a state of utter chaos. As soon as the Straw Hat Pirates got to the island, there was a clear indication that something fishy was going on.

Immediately after, it was made clear that there was a traitor among the ranks of Vegapunk. Furthermore, soon after, the Cipher Pol managed to get to the island and complicated things even further. Lucci engaged in combat with Luffy and even managed to kill one of the satellites of Vegapunk, Atlas. Thankfully, Atlas was repaired later on, however, with York revealing that she was the traitor, things got even more messy.
Oda started a game on Egghead Island to figure out who the traitor was. This traitor had, somehow, taken control of the Frontier Dome entirely. They had then taken control over the Seraphims as well and ordered them to target those on the island one by one. Nobody was safe and everyone was to be hunted down. Fans saw the likes of Luffy, Zoro, Lucci, and Kaku combine their strength to fight against S-Bear and S-Hawk. In the meanwhile, S-Snake was running amok on the island, causing a lot of destruction as well. Meanwhile, S-Shark attacked Nami and Brook but was stopped by Sanji, who then proceeded to fight against him.

Two Confirmed Deaths
With the mysterious happenings on Egghead Island, it was soon established that there was a traitor among the ranks of the Vegapunk and that nobody was to be trusted. Fans tried their best to figure out who the traitor was, however, the vast majority of them missed who this person actually was. Eventually, it was revealed that the traitor was none other than York, the satellite of Greed. It is believed that her greed got the better of her and that she now wanted finer things in life. Her ultimate goal was revealed to become a Celestial Dragon and ascend to a higher level.

York took control of all the Seraphims and targeted the Straw Hat Pirates as well as the Cipher Pol. With the vast majority of the crew engaging in combat against these powerful warriors, it was only a matter of time before some deaths followed. For starters, Pythagoras was the very first one to face death. He was attacked by S-Snake and later on, even after he detached his head, he was stepped on, being completely destroyed in the process. Later on, when the Old Devil Fruit Laboratory was explored and it was revealed that Stella was locked in, Shaka led his rescue but ended up getting shot right through the head by York. This means two characters are now already dead on Egghead Island and more will likely follow very soon. Given the chaos and the war that has just started, nobody is safe and fans will be on the edge of their seats throughout the entirety of this arc.
With the story having returned to Egghead Island recently, things seem to be under control, however, a much bigger war is now upon the crew. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates returned inOne Piecechapter 1089 and it was revealed that they had taken care of York as well as subdued all the Seraphims. InOne Piecechapter 1090, fans found out that the Seraphims were subdued using the bubble gun technology that Vegapunk created. How York was subdued was not revealed to the fans, however, given that Robin was severely injured and was also last seen heading towards her, it can be assumed that she was the one who defeated York in combat.

As soon as it was announced that the island was now under control, the Navy fleet finally arrived Egghead and surrounded it completely. In the previous chapter,Kizaru entered Egghead Islandand this officially triggered the Egghead Incident. Sentomaru ordered all 50 Pacifistas to initiate action and destroy all the enemies surrounding the island. This was soon followed by a clash between Sentomaru and Kizaru and fans will likely get to see a continuation of this in the very next chapter. The 30,000 Marine fleet has now also started moving and they will soon invade the island, marking the beginning of a massive war in One Piece.
More Deaths To Follow
With a war of such massive proportions ongoing inOne Piece, it is only a matter of time before fans get to see more deaths follow. For instance, the satellites of Vegapunk are all characters that fans have grown to like and care about over the months, yet, two of them have already fallen. It is entirely possible that the others will fall as well, given that the Straw Hat Pirates will likely not carry too many allies with them when they escape from the island. Another character who could end up dying in this ordeal is Sentomaru. Fans know him to be a very loyal subordinate of Vegapunk, however, he is currently in danger and could end up dying at any point as he is fightingagainst one of the strongest peoplein theOne Pieceworld, Kizaru.
The Straw Hat Pirates are largely safe, as is Bonney, given that she has not yet reunited with her father. Vegapunk himself will most likely survive, however, the satellites, as well as Sentomaru himself, are characters that could end up falling in this arc. On the side of the Navy, all the Vice Admirals are currently in danger. In fact, even the likes of Kizaru and Saturn could end up dying. While fans know that the Straw Hat Pirates are not known to be killers, the Blackbeard Pirates are currently lurking around and, if Kizaru and Saturn were to fall, they would be presented with the perfect opportunity to steal overpowered Devil Fruits, and also turn them in to the Cross Guild for money.
