Roronoa Zoro is one of the strongest members of the Straw Hat Pirates. Zoro joined the crew in the East Blue and since then he has stayed by his captain’s side. Zoro’s goal is to become the “Strongest Swordsman in the World,” which is a very coveted title. It is clear that Zoro’s path will not be easy, but he is well aware of the risks. Recently Zoro managed to defeat King, who is the right-hand man of Kaido.
With this victory, Zoro took a giant leap toward his dream, but it is apparent that the challenges will only get harder from here on out. InOne Piecechapter 1062, Zoro was seen talking to Lilith. Zoro told her that the crew had some demands, and it would be better for her if she complied. This has raised a lot of questions within the community about what the Straw Hats could demand from Dr. Vegapunk.

Zoro’s Demands
Zoro is not the kind of person who usually demands something from someone, so it seems odd that he asked Lilith to comply with the crew’s demands. The most logical explanation would be that Zoro wants Lilith to call off the Sea Beast Weapons to keep the crew safe. Since Luffy is not with the crew at the moment, they need to ensure that they don’t take unnecessary risks. Initially, Lilith didn’t believe that the Straw Hats could do her any harm, but after Shaka talked to her, she seemed ready to stop her onslaught. However, this might not be the thing that Roronoa Zoro would demand from Vegapunk.
There is a predominant idea floating around that Zoro might want to feed one of his swords a devil fruit. This idea has been circulating within theOne Piececommunity for a very long time, but there is only a handful of evidence to support this claim. In the Alabasta arc, Oda teased that even non-living things could consume a devil fruit. In SBS 98, Oda was asked what devil fruit would suit each Straw Hat, and he gave all the non-devil fruit users different types of abilities.
The ability that Oda picked for Zoro was the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, and he pointed out that he would prefer it if the sword ate the devil fruit. Many fans misinterpreted it and started to believe thatZoro might be the one to finish off Kaido. This was, of course, proven wrong, as Luffy is always the one who takes down the main antagonist of an arc. So Zoro was tasked with taking down King, the second most powerful member of the Animal Kingdom Pirates.
After a grueling fight, Zoro emerged victorious, but he could barely move. At this time, something rather interesting happened. The Straw Hat saw the Grim Reaper, after which he fell unconscious. Oda never followed up with any kind of information related to this incident, but he never leaves a plot line incomplete.Zoro still has problems while trying to use Enma, so maybe if he fed it a devil fruit, it would allow him to not only become more powerful but also use the sword without any serious drawbacks. So, Zoro might want Vegapunk to help him overcome this weakness.
Franky Meets His Idol
In addition to Zoro possibly having some kind of motive for meeting Vegapunk,another Straw Hatwho is possibly looking forward to an audience with the genius scientist is Franky. Franky is an immensely talented shipwright and inventor.
Franky built the Thousand Sunny, a ship made of Jewel Adam Wood that has so far withstood many harsh conditions. He has equipped the Thousand Sunny with several weapons and defense mechanisms that have helped the crew to get out of several bad situations.

Along with his talent for making ships, Franky also has a very perceptive mind. When he was sent to Karakuri Island, which used to be Vegapunk’s home, Franky went through multiple blueprints left behind by the scientist. Understanding these blueprints would not have been easy in any way, as Vegapunk’s mind is considered to be well ahead of time. Franky used the blueprints to create General Franky and to add lasers to his own body. The two also seem to share a mutual interest in cyborgs. Considering Franky has modified his body many times, Vegapunk would definitely hold some interest in how the Straw Hat managed to operate on his own body so meticulously.
The meeting between the two will be very important for Franky, as he considers Vegapunk his idol. There is still a great deal of knowledge that only Vegapunk has access to, and if he shares it with Franky, then the latter could improve his inventions andmaybe even his own body.
Others
There areother Straw Hats, such as Namiand Usopp, who would also benefit from meeting Dr. Vegapunk. Nami’s Clima-Tact is her main weapon, and while it is already a solid weapon, a genius like Vegapunk could definitely enhance it and take it to the next level. Previously, Usopp and Franky were responsible for all the upgrades, but letting Vegapunk take a look at it would not be a bad idea at all.
Before Franky joined the crew, Usopp served as the overseer of gadgets and the Going Merry. He created the Kabuto and the Clima-Tact for Nami, which are both splendid inventions. Currently, Usopp wields Kuro Kabuto, but it hasn’t received any major upgrades since the time skip, so this might be a good time for him to meet Vegapunk.
