APokemonfan has completed an incredible concept for a Paradox form of Vaporeon. Fan art has been a key element to thePokemonfranchise’s enduring success, and the successful release ofPokemon Scarlet and Violethas only reinforced this trend.
With the introduction of Paradox forms inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, Game Freak opened the floodgates to a new genre ofPokemonfan art. Suddenly, everyPokemonhad the potential to evolve further, which was an easy source of inspiration for thePokemonart community. It seems it won’t be long until every singlePokemonhas a fan-made Paradox form, if that isn’t already the case. Alongside this Vaporeon artwork, it should come as no surprise that every Eeveelution has been a popular subject for Paradox forms. OnePokemon fan even fused Espeon and Umbreon to create a brand-new Paradox form.

This particular piece of fan art comes from Redditor shunixe. In their artwork, they show off Water-Type Vaporeon asPokemonfans will recognize it now, as well as the huge Paradox form originating from the past. Users in the thread loved the piece, with some praising the apparentMonster Hunterinfluence. Unfortunately, they’re yet to give their creation an official name for others to use for the creation. Due to the popularity of this Pokemon, it’s not the first time agamer has created a Paradox form for Vaporeon. There’s definitely a place for both, and it’s interesting to see how the approach differs between artists. Where one retains Vaporeon’s cuter design elements, shunixe’s art is more of a core redesign with Vaporeon being visibly bigger and stronger.
The different Eeveelutions have always been popular amongPokemonfans, with several introduced in every Generation until Generation 6. It’s been a long time now since fans have had a new Eevee variant join the pack, and many fans felt thatPokemonleft money on the table by not including a new Eeveelution in Generation 9. WithPokemon Scarlet and Violetreleasing its first expansions later this year, newPokemonhave already been confirmed to be added. While there’s currently no Eeveelution confirmed, there’s still hope that Game Freak could have a surprise hidden for players to discover when the DLC releases.
With Generation 10 still a while away, gamers can only speculate about the officialParadox forms that will come toPokemonin the future. Game Freak could focus on Paradox forms for iconicPokemonlike Pikachu and Charizard, but so far it has decided to avoid this, and understandably so. There’s a lot of pressure to reinventing the wheel on iconic designs, and it could be a while before the studio decided to approach this task. It’s certainly a safer bet to provide Paradox forms for newer creaturesthatPokemonplayers haven’t had years to form attachments to yet.
