Delibird is without any official evolutions, so aPokemonfan has taken matters into their own hands, designing Delibird evolutions inspired by Santa Claus and Krampus. Delibird is an Ice/Flying-type Pokemon that was first introduced in the Generation 2Pokemongames. With a tail that doubles as a Santa Claus-style sack, Delibird was clearly inspired by Christmas holiday traditions, making it one of the more unique bird-like Pokemon in existence.
Since Delibird’s debut in theGeneration 2Pokemongames, it has been without any new evolutions or pre-evolutions. Delibird being one of the rare Pokemon that doesn’t evolve or evolve from something else only serves to make it even more unique. While it’s possible Delibird will get an official evolution in a futurePokemongame, artist dhio_art has created their own concepts for Delibird evolutions in the meantime.
Dhio_art’s work imagines a split evolution line for Delibird that sees it evolve into either Jollybird or Krambird. Jollybird is a large Pokemon clearly inspired by Santa Claus, and essentially looks like a bigger Delibird with a beard. Krambird is inspired by the menacing Krampus and takes on a more sinister look with a slender build, sharp claws, and darker coloring. The artist also designedshiny variantsfor each imaginary Pokemon, with Jollybird turning purple and Krambird taking on a dark gray look.
It’s true that there’s never been an official evolution for Delibird, but that doesn’t mean that the Gen 2 Ice/Flying-type has been completely ignored. On the contrary, Delibird has been featured multiple times in thePokemonanime, and it has also made an appearance in many main seriesPokemongames and spin-off titles. Most recently, a future Paradox version of Delibird was introduced as part of the Generation 9PokemongamesScarlet and Violetin the form of theIce/Water-type Pokemon Iron Bundle.
Now that both of thePokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC expansions are out, there isn’t really any hope of a new Delibird evolution being introduced in the Generation 9 games. It’s possible that theGeneration 10Pokemongameswill add a new Delibird evolution, but nothing to that effect has been announced at this time. In fact, the Generation 10Pokemongames haven’t even been announced yet. It’s possible that the Gen 10Pokemongames introduced new evolutions for existing Pokemon, but even if they do, that doesn’t mean Delibird will be included, and so fans shouldn’t hold their breath.
