ThePokemonfranchise has no shortage of spooky Pokemon for fans to catch and train. Just a couple of examples of creepy pocket monsters include thePokemon in the Gastly evolution lineand Trevenant, a haunted-looking tree-like Pokemon. While Halloween is still a long way off, that did not stop one fan from giving Ivysaur a new spooky design.
As one of the first Pokemon seen in the series, Ivysaur is part of the original Gen 1 Pokedex. It is a Grass/Poison-type Pokemon that evolves from thestarter known as Bulbasaur. Ivysaur has become well-known among gamers due to its frequent appearances in video games and other media. While its regular appearance is instantly recognizable to many fans, few would call it spooky or creepy. However, that did not stop one talented gamer from attempting to give the pocket monster a Halloween-inspired redesign.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as Pbrd7 shared a video of a 3D-printed figure they had created based on thePokemonseries. Specifically, the Reddit user decided to give Ivysaur a new look, and the results were impressive, to say the least. In the clip, the creator rotated the camera around the design, revealing that they had given Ivysaur a Halloween theme.
Impressively, Pbrd7 had decided to replace the large plant bulb on the back of theGrass/Poison-type Pokemonwith a Jackolantern. In addition, they painted the Ivysaur black and gave it gray spots. Of particular note was the gray mark between the Pokemon’s eyes designed to look like a skull. Furthermore, the leaves on its back were given a Halloween flavor, and the pumpkin featured a candle that lit up.
In addition to showcasing the artwork on Reddit, Pbrd7 shared some details behind the design process. According to the Reddit user, several time-consuming steps were involved in making the Ivysaur figure a reality. First, it took them roughly 4 days of work to sculpt the figure. They then revealed that another day was required to print it. Furthermore, it took a couple of more days to finish painting the Ivysaur design, as they noted that the paint had to dry before they could go back over it.
Since Pbrd7 posted this impressive Ivysaur pumpkin figure on Reddit, numerous members of thePokemoncommunity have taken the time to appreciate the design. Over the last couple of days, more than 1,000 users have upvoted the video of the Halloween-themed pocket monster. In the comments section, fans praised the impressive-looking design, and some even suggested that the Pokemon should be a Ghost/Grass-type now. It will be interesting to see what Pbrd7 decides to design next. Perhaps they will decide to give one of the newPokemon from the upcomingPokemon Scarlet and Violetgamesa Halloween makeover.
