Summary

Niantic reveals a new raid event forPokemon GOcentered on the arrival of Mega Heracross, which brings with it exclusive rewards and other bonuses. WhilePokemon GOmay not be as popular as it once was in the years that followed its launch back in 2016, the mobile title continues to support a large player base. The continued success is largely due to how often the game updates and refreshes its content through seasons, new events, as well as constantly expanding the roster of Pokemon to catch.

Each month seemingly brings newPokemon GOevents and spotlight hours, giving players new things to do or look forward to on a weekly basis. In fact, the start of April has seenPokemon GOadd 3 new shiny variantsof Kartana, Celesteela, and Wimpod, though considering how rare these types of Pokemon can be, players will need a bit of luck to find them. However, during the Sizable Surprises event, Niantic is also launching a new Raid Day event showcasing the latest Mega Pokemon arrival in the game.

Pokemon GO Mega Heracross Event Bonuses

For those who want more from this event, Niantic also revealed premium items that will be available during the Mega Heracross Raid Day event. For $5 USD, players can purchase an Event Exclusive Ticket which gives passive bonuses of 8 additionalRaid Passes after spinning aPokemon GOGym Photo Disk, increased odds to earn Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles, as well as 50% more XP and 2x earned Stardust from Raid Battles. Finally, an Ultra Ticket Box can be purchased from the Pokemon GO Web Store starting on April 8 at 10am for $4.99 USD, which includes a bonus Premium Battle Pass for free.

Recently,Pokemon GO’s in-game shop and premium items have been a source of frustrationfor many in the community. An event centered on the game’s fictional villain group, Team GO Rocket, saw the addition of a GO Rocket Box that could be purchased using Pokecoin currency. Oddly enough, the blog reveal post listed the box at 300 Pokecoins, though once it appeared in game, the price seemingly increased to 315. While not a substantial increase, the change in price did upset some in the community who are free to play, considering that players can only earn a maximum of 50 Pokecoins per day, many were left just a bit short.
