One part ofSix Siege’s new life is that of the Private Military Company introduced in 2019. This company is known as NIGHTHAVEN and exists to expand the gritty story that fans can become invested in if they choose to do so. The story is ever-evolving with each new expansion, and NIGHTHAVEN is just the tip of the iceberg.
9Part Of Operation Shifting Tides
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siegehas had an abundance of content, with no end in sight. This is great for players, who remain loyal and happy to play the game to this day.Operation Shifting Tideswas the name of the fifteenth expansion for the game, and in this expansion, was NIGHTHAVEN.
Shifting Tides also featured a rework of the map “Theme Park”, and added two new Operators that were part of the new NIGHTHAVEN Private Military Company. The release for this expansion was December 3rd, 2019, but was announced back on February 17th of the same year.
8Founded By Operator Kali
Kali is the codename of the character Jaimini Kalimohan Shah. She is an Attacking Operator inSix Siegeand was introduced in Operation Shifting Tides. Kali is both leader and founder of NIGHTHAVEN. With her wealth, she created the PMC to operate overseas, after being refused by the Indian military after discovering women were not allowed in combat units.
The importance of NIGHTHAVEN is yet to be revealed in its entirety, but having one of the Operators as a key component of the PMC leaves much speculation amongst fans on where the story will take this company and this character. Perhaps theYear 7 roadmapwill have plenty of surprises.
7Contracts Across The Globe
The founder, Kali, created a Private Security Company that operated within the borders of India with the help of her family’s fortune. Yet, it was not enough, and to expand the company and the clientele, Kali developed NIGHTHAVEN. NIGHTHAVEN could take on contracts globally.
This PMC can operate overseas, and take on any contract, should they choose to accept it. The organization regularly takes on multi-million dollar contracts, and due to its success and efficiency, can negotiate with clients across the globe to achieve the price they want.
6Six Invited Them To Join Rainbow
After the departure of the woman responsible for the reactivation of the Rainbow team, Aurelia Arnot chose a successor to become the new director of Rainbow. The new director, “Six” Harry Pandey, is responsible for Kali and NIGHTHAVEN being a part of Rainbow.
This occurred in the game’s timeline of 2019, to which Six asked them to join Rainbow after NIGHTHAVEN showed immense teamwork and power onboard a tanker situation involving hostages and pirates. Secretly, Six has invited the team to keep an eye on them and ensure they are not taken by opposing organizations.
5Operators In Nighthaven
NIGHTHAVEN bolsters an impressive squad of members that consists of a few fan-favorite Operators that have been in the game longer than NIGHTHAVEN has been a PMC. All the members known for NIGHTHAVEN are playable, and they have 9 members in total (formerly 10).

These members consist of the founder: Kali, Wamai, Ace, Aruni, Osa, Ela, Smoke, IQ, andPulse. The characters involved with NIGHTHAVEN may have future lore explored, as the team grows in stature due to its members. It leaves a question of if there will be a faction divide between Operators and allegiances.
4Introducing Wamai
Within the reveal of Operation Shifting Tides, and the inclusion of NIGHTHAVEN came the newest, and well-praised,Defending Operatorat the time: Ngũgĩ Muchoki Furaha, codename Wamai. Wamai’s background is naval, and his name is a direct reference to that since “Wamai” is a Swahili phrase for “wa maji” which means “of water”.
The character is rather unique. The character can be seen spending his free time relaxing underwater, in utter zen as he imagines himself in the ocean amongst sharks. His role with NIGHTHAVEN’s founder, Kali, is one of much fan speculation, as their story certainly isn’t over.
3Ash Opposes The Partnership
The Attacking Operator, Eliza “Ash” Cohen, strongly opposed the partnership that Harry wanted between Rainbow and NIGHTHAVEN. Ash told Harry that he was “making a mistake.” This begs the question if Ash’s doubts about Rainbow’s director will show a lack of confidence in the team as a whole, and the consideration of NIGHTHAVEN being a greater threat than initially seen.
It adds interesting story dynamics to have Rainbow’s Operators like Ash, vocally opposing the decisions made by the director. Hopefully, there is a story resolution between the characters and their doubts.
2Finka Left Nighthaven
Lera “Finka” Melnikova is anAttacking Operatorfeaturing in Six Siege. She plays quite the fun role for fans of theTom Clancy’s Splinter Cellfranchise, for she knows Sam Fisher, an acquaintance of her father. Finka formed bonds with Operators from NIGHTHAVEN and was invited to join the team.
Finka accepted the invitation and became a member of NIGHTHAVEN in 2022, but re-joined Rainbow in 2025. The three-year gap between joining and leaving remains a mystery, that may potentially be explored at a later date, with anew creative director at the helm.
1The Super Tanker Argus Incident
Within the trailer for Operation Shifting Tides, more of the story was revealed in animation. It showed the NIGHTHAVEN team aboard a helicopter after answering a distress call from the tanker. The tanker was attacked by pirates who threatened to destroy it and everyone on board unless they were given control. The trailer gives justice toSix Siegebeing one of thebest tactical shooters.
The trailer shows the team working together, battling the pirates with maximum efficiency. They saved the ship and everyone on board. This incident was what caught Six’s eye, and caused him to invite them to officially join Rainbow.
