ARed Dead Redemption 2player has attempted to tame a horse in the game, with results not going as planned. The open world ofRed Dead Redemption 2means that truly anything can happen, even accidents like the one seen in this clip.
Thehorses ofRed Dead Redemption 2are one of the most important elements of the game, and players should choose their steed carefully. Players can either purchase fine horses from a stable, or take their chance on taming a horse in the wild. As this player shows, that’s not always the greatest of ideas. Players new to the game will probably find more luck purchasing horses, as it’s the best way to ensure the stats of the horse are as high as possible.

This horse-taming gone wrong was posted to Reddit by user Markhosias. In the clip, they slowly approach a wild Andalusian. As they calm the horse, it slowly backs away fromRed Dead Redemption 2protagonist Arthur Morganbefore taking one step too far and falling backward off a tall cliff. The player follows the horse to see if they’ve survived, but unfortunately, it’s found dead at the bottom of the drop. According to the comments in the thread, luckily the horse respawns in that same spot after leaving the area, so the player isn’t locked away from taming the Andalusian.
Users in the thread found the clip funny above all else, with some claiming the horse would rather die than live as their pet. The horses in the game have provided plenty of strange behavior over the years. One clip fromRed Dead Onlineeven shows a horse trying to perform a backflip, which is quite a sight. It’s admirable that Rockstar has managed to translate the unpredictability of a wild animal into a video game, even if it can seem goofy at times. That small element of silliness is what makes it so fun to experience.
Red Dead Redemption 2’s horse riding is so realisticthat it’s hard to see how Rockstar could possibly improve upon it in a potentialRed Dead Redemption 3. Still, the developer has become an expert over the years at raising seemingly impossible bars, so it would be no surprise to see a sequel feature incredible horse mechanics. WithGTA 6still the priority at Rockstar, gamers shouldn’t expect to hear more from the open-world Western franchise for a long time yet.
Red Dead Redemption 2is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
