InRed Dead Redemption 2, death is everywhere. There’s no savingArthur Morgan from tuberculosisor any member of the Van der Linde gang from their fate throughout the game. Perhaps, though, some of the most heartbreaking deaths occur during the Saint Denis bank robbery.
Meant to be the final score that allows the gang retire, the Saint Denis bank robbery was one of the biggest turning points in the game. Afterward, players end up inGuarma,Red Dead Redemption 2’s strangest chapter, with everything quickly going south for Dutch and the gang, but that’s after a desperate escape attempt from this robbery. During the Saint Denis robbery, both Hosea Matthews and Lenny Summers are killed, and there’s no legitimate way to save them. However, there are illegitimate ways.

Twitch streamer SWOL, also known as @TRUESWOLDIER on Twitter, recently posted a clip in which he managed to save Lenny. Using what appears to be mods, SWOL zips forward and grabs Lenny when he should have been shot before flying out there, Lenny in tow. Overall, it’s a pretty hilarious twist of events when, instead of Arthur becoming Superman and saving this character, he would have tragically died likemany members of the Dutch Van Der Linde gang.
While Lenny doesn’t last as long as many members, his impact on the game and on Arthur are clear. Lenny plays a big role in the gang until this moment, taking part in the Blackwater Massacre, the Cornwall Company robbery, the O’Driscoll Camp assault, the Lemoyne Raiders hit, the Valentine bank robbery, the Braithwaite Manor assault, and perhaps most notably, the drunken night at Smithfield’s Saloon. His death is not only one that Arthur Morgan would want stopped, but many fans of each and everyRed Dead Redemption 2character.
Indeed, the characters are hailed by many fans as one of its best aspects, but at its core, the game is a bit of a tragedy. While Arthur Morgan manages to save a lot of lives, sometimes depending on hischoices inRed Dead Redemption 2, the matter of the fact is that the Wild West is a very dangerous place, Outlaw or otherwise.
This is a hilarious reaction to his death nonetheless, and one that should be accomplishable with similar mods. It remains to be seen how andwhenRed Dead Redemption 3takes place, but it seems safe to say that Rockstar should aim for more of the same: a strong western story with strong memorable characters.
