Disneyhas a wide variety of gaming IP’s under its belt, both original and based off of its iconic existing properties. Yet, there are also properties likeKingdom Heartsthat blend the two. And, if listings are correct, one of its gaming IP’s is about to get a remake from developer PlayMagic.
Indeed, PlayMagic will be remaking two new titles for all major consoles and PC. One of the titles is generically listed as an unannounced “3rd person Action Remake for Ps4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac.” Meanwhile, the other remake is described as an “Action Game Remake for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac” of aDisneyIP.

YouTuber Doctre81 speculates that the third-person action game remake could be a remake ofAlan Wake, which debuted in 2010. Further, this could be a likely scenario, as thepublishing rights forAlan Wakehad been reacquiredby Remedy Entertainment. Thus, the inspiration to make anotherAlan Wakegame, remake or not, may have arisen.
As for the remake of a Disney action game IP, it is more difficult to discern what this could be. One might be tempted to believe that this is referring to a remake of the firstKingdom Hearts, though this scenario is unlikely, given that there already exists a remake ofKingdom Heartson Xbox One and PS4 in the form ofKingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix. As such, it does make one wonder what the IP could be.
As Doctre81 points out, Disney has a lot of IPs. Most recently, this was indicated by theretro editions ofThe Lion Kingand theDisney’s Aladdingames. Its catalog reaches fairly far back as well, as the company has decades' worth of gaming content.
On a broader scale, it is interesting that Disney games are getting remakes at all. GivenDisney’s stated disinterestin publishing video games, it comes as a bit of surprise that games such as the aforementionedThe Lion King,Disney’s Aladdin, and PlayMagic’s upcoming remake are being developed at all.
Whatever the case may be, hopefully, gamers will find out which Disney action game is getting a remake soon. Perhaps we’ll be made aware come The Game Awards on December 12.
