How to Begin the More Pest Control Side Quest in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Upon arriving at The Castle’s Grand Hall duringChapter 9, the player will need to locate and collectthree separate statue headsin order to progress the story. There are three areas in the Grand Hall where these statue heads can be found, but not all of them are easy to locate. The player will need to explore the Dining Hall if they wish to find the snake statue head, but before they enter inside, they can interact withthe blue notejust left of the doorway.

Interacting with this note willbegin the More Pest Control side quest, which requires Leon to locate the rats roaming the Grand Hall and dispose of them all. Disposing of the rats inResident Evil 4remake is simple enough, but finding them can be a little challenging.
Where to Find the More Pest Control Side Quest Rats in Resident Evil 4 Remake
Finding rats inResident Evil 4remake can be quite difficult due to how small they are and how they tend to blend into the environments they wander. Once the player has found one, they can use aknife or a firearmto kill it.
The Dining Room Rat Location
Upon beginning the More Pest Control side quest, the player should proceed through the door next to where the blue note was hanging and look toward the cage with the snake head statue inside. The rat can be seen running around the areajust in front of the cage.
Before leaving in search of the second rat, the player should take a moment to solvethe Dining Room Table puzzle, as it is required to progress the story.
The Armory Rat Location
After exploring the Armory and locating the lion head statue, Leon will gain access tothe corridor leading back to the Grand Hallon the floor below. The second rat can be found scurrying near the chest.
The Library Rat Location
Toward the end of Chapter 9, the player will gain control of Ashley. During this segment, Ashley will be required to explorethe Libraryin search of a way to rescue Leon. In the hallway just after the debris she needs to crouch under, the third and final rat can be found once the animal head hanging on the wall falls to the ground.
To kill this rat, Chapter 9 needs to be completed so Leon can explore the area himself. When chapter 10 begins, the player should backtrack tothe hallway leading into the Library and crouch through the openinginto the area with the animal heads. There, a knife or firearm can be used to kill the rat.
Once all the rats in the Grand Hall have been killed, Leon can return to the Merchant to complete the More Pest Control side quest, which willreward him with three Spinels.
