The $69.99 Deluxe Edition comes with a “Trauma Pack” that will let players “heighten their survival horror experience with extra content” including a filter based onRE7’s found footage scenes, new save room music, andaccess to the “Max Difficulty” setting. However, the $219.99 Collector’s Edition comes with all of that and more: a figurine based on returning character Chris Redfield, a poster, an artbook, and a steelbook case; all packaged inside a box that looks like a sticker-adorned suitcase.

On top of those two special edition sets, Capcom is also offering aResident Evil bundle that includesRE7: BiohazardandRE8: Village, chronicling the full journey of returning protagonist Ethan Winters thus far. The bundle can be pre-ordered now for $79.99, and will include the Gold Edition ofBiohazardas well as the Deluxe Edition ofVillage.

Chris Redfield has been a major character in theResident Evilfranchisesince its first installment released in 1996. He appears at the end ofResident Evil 7and plays a role in its DLC, which has seemingly helped to establish his more prominent appearance inResident Evil 8- including its marketing. Long-time fans with a connection to the character will likely be drawn to the figure included in this upcoming Collector’s Edition, even if it exponentially increases the price.

For those who can’t wait to get their hands on the nextResident Evilgame, Capcom has put out a little something to tide fans over. The Maiden, a standalone PS5 demo forResident Evil 8set in Castle Dimitrescu, is available to play now, and something for other platforms will be released at a later date. This, alongside more content, should pave the way forResident Evil’s 25th anniversary to be a good one.
