Steamforged Games launched the Kickstarter page for theResident Evilboard gameyesterday and not only has the board game already been funded, but it’s on track to surpass 1 million dollars. As it stands right now, the Kickstarter has over $950,000 funded against the original goal of $137,697, which is extremely impressive to say the least.

The board game itself features a number of creative elements, including the option to play as four different members of S.T.A.R.S. Chris Redfield,Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers, and Barry Burton are all playable characters that come with their own figurines. In addition, there are a number of enemy figurines based on classicResident Evilenemy NPCs.

In any case, it’s amazing to see just how much adulation there is for classicResident Evil. It could be due to the series recent revitalization with games likeResident Evil 7andResident Evil Villageleaving strong impacts on the gaming community. Though, with all ofResident Evil’snewfound success, it begs to question what the future of the franchise will be going forward.

There has been a cacophony of rumors saying thatDLC forResident Evil Villagewill be revealed on Halloween, but there’s also a lot of other rumoredResident Evilprojects that could be revealed in the coming months.
