However, even with all these positives of theMass Effectfranchise, sometimes the games can prove to be a little buggy.

While bugs don’t turn up too often inMass Effect, they have been known to appear. Sometimes, they can be annoying glitches that stop a player from progressing through the story. As the playable character of the mainMass Effecttrilogy, Commander Shepard often suffers the most from random bugs and glitches, and the experience of Reddit user Hosslium was no different. Just after fighting some Geth while trying tofind Liara T’Soni in one of the firstMass Effect’searly missions, Hosslium exits combat to find their Shepard is moving rather strangely. Instead of marching forwards in their usual, trained style, Commander Shepard waddles around in an A-pose, unable to properly aim their gun or enter cover.

As well as making Shepard’s walking animation weird, the most ridiculous part of this bug appears when Hosslium tries to run with their strange Shepard. Instead of the usual sprint animation, it seems that Commander Shepard instantly becomes possessed, as theMass Effectprotagonist waves their arms around wildly and unnaturally. According to Hosslium, this bug was caused by them holstering and drawing their weapon when combat began, leading to some sort of glitch caused by the animations following one another so rapidly.

Apart from this terrifying and hilarious bug, there are other glitches to be found in theMass Effecttrilogy, especially in the first game. Some of these bugs can prove helpful to a player, such as theinfinite Paragon and Renegade glitch ofMass Effect 1, which can be exploited to give Commander Shepard all possible dialogue options. Apart from a few exploits, though, a lot of theseMass Effectissues just end up creating some moments worthy of a screenshot or gif.
