There may be many reasons for the colossal success ofNew Horizons, including the game’s calm, cute, and wonderful demeanor, the fact the franchise seems to have been building up in popularity over the past for years, and/or the idea that it may be a perfect game during this odd COVID-19 quarantine time.

It is also true thatAnimal Crossingis jam-packed with seemingly endless content, in fact, oneGrandma playedNew Leaffor 4,000 hoursand is set to begin herNew Horizonsjourney soon. But when the summer rolls around, it’s possible that players will have run out of some things to do, which is why it is interesting that a leak found on Reddit and 4chan pointing to fresh waves ofNew Horizonsfun may be on the way in an update.

The leak has quite a few intriguing ideas. Diving would be returning, along with 40 deep-sea creatures. There isso much to know about fishing inNew Horizons, diving would just add to it. Both the aquarium and museum would be getting updates. And Phineas would be returning to the fold for the Summer Solstice event, an old Villager from previousAnimal Crossingtitles.

It is important to take this rumor with a massive grain of salt, as it doesn’t seem to come with a lot of validity. It does, however, seem relatively realistic, as all of the ideas are things that are from previousAnimal Crossinggames.

The April calendar mixes things up in New Horizons, as each month and season adds new twists to the game for players on their island. These small-scale changes are enough to freshen up the experience, but massive updates can also an exciting way to stimulate the player base.
