August 3 will see the release of thenextPokemon Scarlet and Violettrailer, so fans won’t have to wait long to learn more about the games in an official capacity. But while fans wait for more official information onPokemon Scarlet and Violetand what the new games will entail, they can consider some “leaks” that have been coming out about the games. If the leaked information is to be believed, it seems as thoughPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill not be bringing back a popular feature fromPokemon Legends: Arceus.Pokemon Legends: Arceusmade a number of sweeping changesto the corePokemongame formula, with one such change directed at how evolutions work in the game.
The process ofevolving Pokemon inPokemon Legends: Arceusis much different from other mainline games. InPokemon Legends: Arceus, Pokemon do not evolve automatically. Instead, players are given a notification that a Pokemon is ready to evolve once they’ve satisfied the requirements. Said Pokemon can then be evolved at thePokemon Legends: Arceusplayer’s leisure. Many fans approved of this change, especially since they have been able to stop Pokemon from evolving anyway, so it simply streamlines a feature that’s already been in the series for decades.
According to a recent post by CentroLeaks,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill be reverting to the classic way of evolving Pokemon, meaning Pokemon will evolve automatically once players have raised them to the correct level or fulfilled other requirements. Presumably,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayerswill still be able to cancel Pokemon evolutions if they so desire, but that’s still more inconvenient than thePokemon Legends: Arceusevolution method.
At the time of this writing, Nintendo has not shared much in the way ofPokemon Scarlet and Violetevolution information at all. In fact, fans don’t even know what thePokemon Scarlet and Violetstartersevolve into yet. Fans will have to hang tight for more official information onPokemon Scarlet and Violetevolutions to see if there’s any truth to this latest leak.
