One of the beauties of gaming is how it can, and has, interact with various other forms of entertainment, creating epic crossovers that put theMCU’s Thanos on theFortnitemap, where sports find their own spaces and athletics/workouts have their role in VR and other platforms, and drama shows likeBreaking BadandBetter Call Saulcan find ways to be represented beyond the Netflix screen.

For example, one fan-made Unreal Engine 5 video demonstrates what aBreaking Badgame could look like, if it were to make that adaptation. And, as many fans know,Better Call Saul’s final season is airing on Netflix, with the show’s finale scheduled this month. Some fans have used cosplays and mods to celebrate this universe and this show, and one fan went the extra mile to recreate Saul Goodman in a unique way.

Even for someone who has never played it,Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorneyis a known name, and beyond even that, the common image/GIF of Phoenix Wright throwing out his index finger and shouting “objection!” is known. Well, one Twitter fan named Zid decided to takePhoenix Wright: Ace Attorney’s unique art style and mix in a littleBetter Call Saulby recreatingSaul Goodman.

The recreation is impressive. It matches Saul Goodman’s tacky suit to the style perfectly and truly captures the now-iconic haircut of the shady lawyer. It’s obviously not a 1:1 recreation ofactor Bob Odenkirk’s face, but it’s close enough that he could not be mistaken for any other lawyer, fictional or otherwise. All, in the iconic style ofPhoenix Wright: Ace Attorney’s art.

Indeed, one cannot discuss the visual novel genre of video games without really addressing thelegacy and history ofPhoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, and its legacy has lasted over two decades and counting. It’ll likely continue to do so, and this is far from the first lawyer-based crossover, but it is perhaps the most fitting.

Better Call Saul’s final episodewill air on August 15, and then the story of Saul Goodman that began inBreaking Badwill come to an end (if in a roundabout way). For many fans, the wait for the final episode feels incredibly long.

Better Call Saulseason 6 is airing on Netflix now.
