A new mod forSkyrimhas been unleashed, which takes some ancient Nordic ruins and turns them into a city of mages, which is particularly interesting for those players who enjoy the more magical aspects of the game. There areso many ways to playThe Elder Scrolls 5, whether it’s building a stealth character, learning the dark arts, or perfecting the use of swords. And that’s just in the vanilla game, though many would say that the best way to experience the 2011 epic RPG is through the slew of fan-made modifications.

Skyrimhas a ton of mods out there, some of which will tweak the gameplay to make it more interesting, while others will improve the graphics to keep the 11-year-old release looking up to date. Then there are those that go to great lengths to really expand the already pretty huge world. While the base game has a lot to see and do, there are evidently people in the community who see it fit to implement new ideas the developer probably didn’t think of, including creating entire cities inhabited by many NPCs.

That’s precisely what modder Sdougiss has done. As spotted by PCGamesN, a new mod called “The City of Bromjunaar” has just been released forSkyrim. The main crux of it is that it revitalizes the ancient Labyrinthian ruins situated between Solitude and Whiterun. The project is the culmination of two years' worth of work and is intended to be a “haven for mages.” Players will find the city contains three temples, six shrines, six houses, and a market selling mage-based items, weapons, armor, and food. There are around 100 NPCs with more than 190 voice lines created using the AI tool xVASynth2.

Anyone who’s familiar withSkyrim’s College of Winterhold sidequestwill be very aware of the Labyrinthian ruins, as they are a major aspect of the college. It was growing frustration that no one else had done anything with the area that spurred Sdougiss to create this mod, saying that Bromjunaar is essentially a reward for completing the specific quest related to the college, adding that a city is a “pretty big prize.”

Playing a mage inSkyrimis vital for many fans who wish to wield the power of lightning, fire, and other elements in their very hands. And while the College of Winterhold is a good place to really get to grips with magic, this mod at least gives somewhere new for mages to hang out while also bringing these ancient ruins back from the dead.
