Outside of bug fixes, this latest update does make a few changes to the popular co-op Salmon Run mode in that the time for players who are not on the host system to pick up Golden Eggs has been shortened immediately after throwing or depositing one. Theupcoming Splatoon 3 Splatfest eventis also getting brand-new music called Suffer No Fools that is set to play during Splatfest Battles and Tricolor Battles. Better yet, the song will be free to all players, so the paid DLC is not required to hear the song.

Alongside the music change, Nintendo has also teased free content for players partaking in theSplatoon 3SpringFest event, with new pastel colored sunglasses, as well as 9 new pairs of shoes. The special themed gear works similarly to previous DLC distribution, so players will need to check their SRL New Channels on the Switch in order to claim the content once it’s available.
