Prior to Update 1.6, Skull Cavern was a dungeon-style system of caves with standard chests, lots of enemies, and nothing too special besides an achievement to be gained. However, it was discovered that Update 1.6 added new loot chest sprites in Skull Cavern, with one on floor 100, two on floor 200, and three on floor 300.
