It’s a very complex subject, but gamers might want to learn how it all works to best navigate all the interesting worlds inStarfield. Not only will this guide show players how time passes across space, but it’ll also explain how they can skip time anywhere they go.
How to Skip Time
It’s quite common for games to allow players to skip time, making it easier to farm resources or wait for a mission to open up.Starfieldis no different, making it possible for its players to skip the time of day at nearly any moment in the game. As long as they have access to a comfortable spot, such as a bed, a chair, a bench, or a couch, they’ll be able to rest and pass the time.
In order to skip time inStarfield, players must either select Sit on a seat or Sleep on a bed and then choose the Wait option. Gamers have to decide for how long they’d like to rest, and this will determine how much time they’ll skip ahead.

Gamers can skip between one hour and 24 hours Local Time. Even though it might not be available at all times, sleeping is always a better option, as it will fully heal the player if they’ve lost health beforehand. Additionally, they’ll also gain theWell Rested boostwhichincreases their XPby ten percent for 24 minutes, even if they only choose to sleep for an hour.
How Time Works
Time is relative, and this concept is very important inStarfield. Even though gamers have to choose to skip ahead between one and 24 local hours,Local Time won’t always match up with Universal Time (UT).
Three hours on Jemison is the same as six hours and 15 minutes UT. Three hours on the Earth’s moon equals 82 hours and 40 minutes UT. However, three hours on Earth is the same as three hours UT, as passing time is the same, but the Local Time will be different depending on where the player decided toland on the planetdue totimezone differences.
In space, Local Time and passing time will always match Universal Time. Furthermore, Universal Time is the same regardless of where the player is situated.
Starfieldis now available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
