InStarfield, there is an entire galaxy to explore, which makes sense as to why some players would opt to use fast travel. After all, not everyone wants to spend hours traveling from one planet to another. However, this doesn’t always benefit those who playStarfield, and sometimes it could be worth actively avoiding the use of fast travel to have a better experience in the game.

Fast travel can be a great ally to those that enjoy a deep RPG, or a lengthy open-world. However, there should be a time and a place when players activate their Grav Drive and embark on a new adventure becauseStarfieldplayers might bemissing out on some exciting contentby relying too heavily on fast travel to get to their destination.
6Avoiding Exciting Space Battles
When players drop into a new system, they could be attacked by hostile fleets. Whether it’s bounty hunters,Crimson Fleet, spacers, or more, the endless battle in space is a joy to many, especially when some of the bestStarfieldskills require players to get spaceship kills. Through heavy use of fast traveling, players are squandering the opportunity to have these space battles, as they are skipping these chance encounters with hostiles.
Space battles are part of the charm ofStarfield, and players should orbit other planets, or travel to different systems without knowing who or what is going to attack them. Space can be a hostile environment and it would be a complete waste not to experience those hostilities with some exhilarating space combat where players have to give it their all to survive.

5Missing Out On Random Encounters
Among the infinite space, players don’t always have to run into hostiles. Sometimes, players can run into some other ships that just want to enjoy some chit-chat, or, prank the player by asking for directions to Uranus. There have been many fun and wholesome encounters that players have found across the galaxy, all random, and all whilst venturing through space with these other AI personalities.
There have been reports of sea shanty captains and even a lonely grandma who invites the player over for dinner. There are a lot of fun chance encounters, and it’s very likely that players have not found them all just yet, especially with just how large the galaxy can be, and how manyCredits there are to be had within.

4Skipping Potential Side Quests
When fast traveling, players are missing out on a crucial element of exploration. Players can easily miss some side quests by going straight to Point B from Point A without taking any detours from their route. This means that players can easily skip and be none the wiser about some of the best side quests inStarfield, which often happen in space with a vessel stranded orwaiting for another shipto come and help them out.

If players were to fast travel everywhere quickly, then they are bound to miss out on some truly exciting mysteries. There have been many reports of some exciting quests started in space, suchas the Juno AI, and even the easter egg to the Xenomorph fromAlien. It’s worth sticking around to try and find something.
3Ruins Immersion
One part of the charm ofStarfieldis the Grav Drive. The ability to jump to other star systems is exciting and visually stunning. Traveling the stars is part of the beauty of the game, and sitting back to watch the wonders of the galaxy unfold is what the game is all about. Yet, if players are to just jump straight from Akila Cityto New Atlantis, then they are going to miss out on the true beauty of immersion.

Set a course and sit back, enjoy the sights of space and the infinite of the glistening stars in the distance. Players should travel through the use of their ship rather than just jumping from one spot to another, asStarfieldpresents a rare opportunity for players to enjoy the wonders of space in a virtual space, bringing forth an intense immersion unlike no other.
2Discourages Exploration
Being so focused on the ability to fast travel makes players miss out on what the game is all about. If players are too concentrated on getting somewhere they know, then they are missing the adventure that lies within the journey to the destination. Players arediscouraged from explorationif they rely too much on fast travel, and their curiosity will be limited as they cross other systems.
Many players that use the fast travel functions won’t bother to explore a random moon or a strange-looking planet, because they can just fast travel to their destination, and thus it leaves them no incentive to see what’s on the planet before them.

1Faltering Ship Captain Experience
Being a ship captain means having an able crew. Players can have plenty ofunique companions inStarfieldto fill their ship up with some fun personalities and interesting characters. Yet, if players are to fast travel everywhere, they are not going to get an added layer of immersion by hearing and seeing their crew on the ship.
Players should get the experience they need as a captain by not only enjoying their ship in space with their crew, but also enjoying the feel of the ship, and mastering its mechanics and the ship systems that they are in total control of.
