A glitch inMarvel’s Avengersshows Captain America jumping to incredible heights and clearing amazing distances during one of the game’s missions. The game was originally released in 2020, featuring most of the hero roster of the 2012 film that included The First Avenger. It is one of a number of glitches that can be found throughoutMarvel’s Avengers.
The game’s first big hook was that Captain America apparently died in the opening act which, in turn, led to the disbanding of the titular team. It turned out that the character had, in fact, survived, and was later rescued by Iron Man in one of the game’s more innovative missions. SinceMarvel’s Avengerswas released, the character has had his own set of skins made available for purchase. This includes, but is not limited to, agladiator-inspired outfit for Captain Americaalongside many others from the films. However, despite having been released over two years ago, the game still features a number of bugs related to character.

Over the years, the various bugs that have affected The First Avenger are mostly aesthetic in nature. One bug, for example, warped Captain America’s faceinto a horrific form but didn’t exactly affect the gameplay. A recent bug, discovered by Reddit user mkpeezy1, however, does. A video from the user shows Captain America jumping to incredible heights and going distances that put The Incredible Hulk’s abilities to shame inMarvel’s Avengers.
The initial launch for the game did not exactly go well for the developer or publisher. TheBeta forMarvel’s Avengershas been listedas one of the worst ever, and glitches in the game continue to persist. In addition, the game itself hasn’t been the biggest financial success by any means. Between it and Marvel’sGuardians of the Galaxy, Marvel games may have lost Square Enix as much as $200M. However, Crystal Dynamics seems determined to continue to support the game since it was picked up by Embracer.
Over the past year, Square Enix has released numerous skins and DLC pieces forMarvel’s Avengers. This has included The Mighty Thor DLC,Hulk’s gladiatorial armor fromThor: Ragnarok, and many other additions. For the moment it is not entirely clear how long Crystal Dynamics will be able to continue to support the game, but as long as this support continues, it is likely that gamers will encounter more bizarre glitches like this one.
Marvel’s Avengersis currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
