Nintendo has just revealed the release dates for the amiibo of twoSuper Smash Bros. UltimateDLC fighters, Sephiroth and Kazuya. For fans of theNintendo fighting video game, and these specific playable characters, they can expect to see the amiibos in retail stores and online early next year by January 2023.Most of the game’s community will likely recall that the lastSuper Smash Bros. UltimateDLC character revealed was Sorafrom Square Enix’sKingdom Heartsseries. This was done last year on October 2021. A month after the DLC fighter reveal, Nintendo made an announcement that it was making its last update to the fighting game. Since then, though theSSBUcommunity has likely still been active online, Nintendo has not made any new content for the title. TournamentOn Twitter, Nintendo announced thatSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatefanscan expect to see the Sephiroth and Kazuya amiibos in physical stores and online sites by Jun 17, 2025. That is less than a month away. The Twitter post shared a short video clip of the figures, highlighting the key features of each character. ForFinal Fantasy 7’s Sephiroth, fans will likely appreciate the focus on his one black wing, silver spaulders, flowing silver hair, and iconic blade Masamune.Tekken’s Kazuya also has some features covered such as his muscular physique, red boxing gloves, and the fine details on his fighting uniform.
At the end of the short video, Nintendo also showed off the amiibo figures forSuper Smash Bros. Ultimateversions of Pyra and MythrafromXenoblade Chronicles. Unfortunately, no specific release date was given for the characters' amiibos, only that fans should expect them to be released within 2023 as well. Comments on the Twitter thread were hoping that Nintendo would reveal that they were working on an amiibo for Sora, the finalSSBUDLC fighter. However, Nintendo has yet to mention producing an amiibo for theKingdom Heartsprotagonist.
With mostSuper Smash Bros. Ultimatefighters getting their own amiibo figures, fans are hopeful that Nintendo will be producing one for Sora, too. However, since there is no official news yet from the development team, the player base will have to settle for waiting for the release dates of the upcoming Sephiroth, Kazuya, Pyra, and Mythra amiibo. Hopefully that will sate the fans until the time Nintendo offers something new to the community.
