Akame is a broker who lives in Sotenbori, and she is a self-titled jack of all trades. Joryu gets introduced to her when helping a group of homeless people(in typical Joryu fashion),and then it expands from there. She has an elaborate menu system that translates to a side quest hub called Akame’s Network.
Taking on side quests through this hub will lead to a plethora of rewards, from money, to items, to new party members. Akame’s Network level will increase the more quests players complete. Once players hit certain thresholds, they will get bonus cash, so all and all, it is best to do side quests as soon as they show up for rewards and because they aren’t long.
4Tackle The Arena
Level Up Your Crew
The aforementionedarena will unlock about halfway throughLike a Dragon Gaiden.Like Akame’s Network, there are standard RPG elements within. While Joryu will not gain levels, the party members he recruits will.
Again, this is the best way to earn money once this area opens up on the Osaka Castle gambling ship. Level up the crew, gain more allies, and rake in that cash. Some of the best characters are tied to side quests such as Masaharu Kaito, who is one of the main characters from thespinoff seriesJudgment. Players can use cash to upgrade Joryu’s health and attack power as well as build his Heat Gauge. The Heat Gauge allows players to perform finishers on enemies and functions likeLimit Breaks from theFinal Fantasyseries. Other notable abilities from these trees include upgrading Joryu’s new gadgets like his Spider Watch or gaining the ability to equip more items.

Players begin the game with one item slot, but this can be expanded via the skill tree so that Joryu can wear four things. Players can equip things like vests for protection or bracelets to raise Joryu’s attack power. Some items will prevent status-inflicting illnesses like bleeding. Knowing the best equipment to wear comes in handy for boss battles and when players step into the arena.
Also, this doesn’t provide a defensive bonus for Joryu but players should keep his wardrobe in mind.A secret agentwith a good-looking suit or clean pair of shoes is a happy secret agent. The clothing shop will eventually unlock on the gambling ship and more items will appear depending on how players are doing in the arena.

Akame Points can be used for more than just upgrades in the various skill trees. Akame has a shop back at her hideout where players can get exclusive items. Players can expand her inventory by investing in the Akame Network too, which costs money. Money rules the world ofLike a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name(it could just have been calledLike a Dragon: The Man Who Needed Yen).
Jokes aside, in the investment sections there are ways to decrease how many Akame Points are needed for upgrades, how much money players can earn by defeating random waves of thugs, and so on. It’s best to upgrade all of these investments as soon as possible because, in the long run, it will help players get Joryu back up to his god-like status as the Dragon of Dojima.
