Summary

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crownhas one of the most epic openings to any game in the series let alone Metroidvanias as a whole. The main character, Sargon, has to stop an army along with his comrades called the Immortals. Players get to run through a war torn battlefield which ends with an easy, but still fun boss fight against General Uvishka.

General Uvishka is a good appetizer for the bosses that will follow inPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown. They can range from fun and inventive to damn near impossible. For those who care about boss secrets, it should be known that there will be spoilers.

Jahandar in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

7Jahandar

Beware His Scorpion Tail

Jahandaris one of the first big bosses that players will face inPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown. It’s a manticore which is a mythological creature that changes between interpretations but in this game, it looks like a lion with horns, bat wings, and a scorpion tail. That tail is its deadliest weapon in the game as it can strike players swiftly.

Also, if Jahandar pierces the ground, it will create a toxic hole that can poison players. Another devastating attack that comes in later rounds involves a gravity orb that can rain rocks down on players randomly. It’s a true test to see how players are handling the mechanics of the game well.

Kiana in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

6Kiana

A Corrupt Spirit Of The Forest

Kiana is a dark guardian of the Hyrcanian Forest who looks like she belongs intheDestinygames. She is accompanied by Chamrosh in this fight which is a big wolf-like dog. While big, Chamrosh is no slouch as it has a killer speed.

Its fast ground movements can throw players off easily. Also, it doesn’t help that Kiana has a far-reach with her giant double-bladed rod that she will throw out like a boomerang. The toughest phase of this fight is when she splits into three and attacks players in an endless wave of swift strikes in a colorful background.

Orod in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

5Orod

The Immortal Sea Beckons

Orod is the master of the sea and also one of the Immortals. In Vahram’s deception, Orod takes his side over Sargon’s and decides to challenge him to a duel. He has an anchor that looks similar to Kiana’s rod except it has a dual purpose.

Midway through the fight Orod will split his anchor in two and create a weapon that looks likeKratos’ Blades of Chaos fromGod of War. Orod is a huge character so of course his attacks land with the power of a thousand waves. Between his gusts of wind magic and giant weapons, it will be hard for players to dodge through it all let alone hit him.

King Darius in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

4King Darius

Don’t Wake Daddy

King Darius was the father of Vahram who died tragically at the hands of Queen Thomyris. He sacrifices himself to save Vahram by giving him the power of Simurgh but unfortunately, it corrupts him. Apparently, King Darius gets corrupted in death as well because he turns into an undead towering king who looks like he was rippedfromDark Souls.

The beginning of the battle is not that hard as King Darius is slow and uses ice magic. Halfway through he switches to fire magic and hunches over which gives him better speed. Thankfully, there are grips to lace onto to dodge past the fire and ice attacks, but it still won’t be an easy dual.

Menolias in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

3Menolias

The Bow And The Fist

Menolias is another member of the Immortals who took Vahram’s side even though it didn’t make total sense. He was pushed to the limit and torn about where his loyalties should lie. Should he believe the newbie with a good heart or the leader who has the kingdom on his mind? The boss fight plays out nicely as he struggles through this dilemma but even in his crisis, Menolias doesn’t hold back.

His strength is his speed and mastery of the bow. It’s hard to get close to him and even harder to dodge through multiple projectiles at once. The big twist is when he ditches the bow and becomes a hardcore monk who can easily knock the wind out of players. Menolias is not the onlybow master inPrince of Persia: The Lost Crownthough as players can get his weapon early on, or at least a version of Menolias.

Azhdaha in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

2Azhdaha

I’ll Show You How Snake-Like I Can Be

Azhdaha is a giant snake and even though it isn’t a god-like member of the Immortals, it is indeed a force to be reckoned with. Its projectiles are quicker and more numerous than even Menolias’ arrow attacks. The worst part about this boss fight is Azhdaha’s ultimate attack which is hard to counter withPrince of Persia: The Lost Crown’s parry system.

Azhdaha will grab hold of Sargon and then fire a beam directly into his mouth. It’s an epic animation that is both cool and frustrating every time it plays out. The best spot of advice for this one is to have plenty of health potions on hand.

Vahram in Prince of Persia The Lost Crown

1Vahram (Finale)

Both Angel And God

There are three fights with Vahram in the game. The first two are basically the same and they both take place on a bridge. Both of these fights combined do not even come close to the brutality of this final confrontation which is also the last boss in the game. Vahram is now a god, complete with a golden glowing aura and wings.

He looks like a more angelic version ofSephiroth fromFinal Fantasy 7with all of those wings. Besides his obvious power, the killer of this fight is that there are four phases and each phase has a complete health bar for Vahram. The last phase gives Sargon a power-up which makes that match a bit moot but still, it is a challenging boss battle overall that will take some time to get the pacing right.
