Bloober Team, a developer known for creating some memorable horror games over the past few years such asBlair WitchandLayers of Fear,has just put out its latest title,The Medium, on Xbox Series X/S and PC. TheSilent Hill-inspired psychological third-person horror game received decent reviews from critics, landing on an average score of 75 on Opencritic at the time of writing. While the game’s reviews from various outlets haven’t been all positive,The Mediumhas still been a financial success for the development team, as thegame’s development costshave already been earned back from the game’s overall sales.
Now thatThe Mediumhas launched and people are starting to try it out for themselves, it’ll be interesting to see just what the studio is working on next. Since the team had worked onlicensed products likeBlair Witchand also original properties, there’s no telling what the studio is hiding up its sleeves. However, in a tweet this week from one of Bloober Team’s designers, it seems that the team is not only beginning to work on its next project but it’s also hiring for multiple positions.

The tweet comes from Artur Laczkowski and reads: “The Mediumwas cool, right? Right, but what’s even cooler is that we are working on a new big project and we need your input! Are you a Combat Programmer? VFX Artist? Concept Artist? Yes? Then join us if you dare.” There’s no telling what this “new big” project is, but it’s very likely that it ends upbeing yet another horror game.
If Bloober Team fans check out the official job listings for the studio, they can see that the team is hiring for multiple roles, such as a concept artist, 3D environment artist, gameplay programmer, and VFX artist. Judging from the position titles, it seems likely that the next game is also a 3D title of some sort,similar toThe Medium.
As of right now,The Mediumis an Xbox console exclusive with there being no official announcement of the title releasing on other platforms. However, being thatBloober Team isn’t owned by Microsoft, there is a chance thatThe Mediumcould potentially see a release on PS5 or even PS4. One of Bloober Teams past horror titles,Blair Witch, initially launched as a console exclusive on Xbox One, but then came to PS4 just a few months later, and then eventually Switch and Oculus devices.
The Mediumis now available on PC, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X.
