For players who think they have masteredWordleand all its clones,Absurdleis the last challenge to overcome. On its surface, it looks quite similar toWordle,and it works using similar rules. However, instead of having one solution,Absurdleinstead has 2315 solutions. Furthermore, the game will change the secret word if necessary, so the player’s objective is to try to narrow the number of possible words until the game’s AI has only one word left. It is exceptionally complicated to explain, but it becomes clearer upon playing it.Absurdletakes a bit more thinking, as the game is responding to the player’s actions, but that makes winning it feel so much better.
Wordle’s popularity has opened the door for word-based games to gain more traction, and plenty of gamers have discovered the joys of simple puzzle games thanks to it. The dozens of clones that have popped up demonstrate that there are many more games available in its niche.
