Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandshas enticed a growing number of players with itsslew of awesome weaponsand range of customizations. But one element that truly stands out is the diverse lineup of spells. These spells can be fun to wield, as they’re unpredictable and take on unique traits as compared to the grenade counterparts found inBorderlands.

Thankfully, there are a number of great spells that can be obtained even when fighting through the lower levels.

Tiny Tina Wonderlands Spectral Talons spell against Wyvern

8Spectral Talons

Manufactured by Arken and Conjura, the Spectral Talons is distinct in that it can make a real impact — at least for a common, early find. It doesn’t need to be farmed to obtain, as it can drop randomly from any loot source. Of course, it always helps to havecollected more lucky dice.

The spell allows players to summon wyverns that draw in nearby enemies — acting as flying, distracting bombs. While it requires a bit of precision and aiming, Spectral Talons can be useful in pelting distant targets and taking some heat off of players. Modified variants of this can be especially useful, as larger numbers of wyverns (and even wyverns that summon smaller ones) can be exploited.

7Gelatinous Cube

Crafted by Conjura, this legendary spell is often found later in the game, but the fact that it crops up from any loot source means that players can come upon one early. In fact, players have reportedly unearthed the unique Gelatinous Cube well before hitting level 15. With that said, the spell has the best chance to appear in theDungeon Door near the Weekwild Dankness entrance. There, players will need to slay theFrondstrosity boss.

Players who favor precision and single blasts of damage may want to look elsewhere, but those seeking crowd control and AoE damage should give this one a look. The spell summons a large gelatinous cube rife with poison, which bounces sporadically several times. As it does this, it leaves large pools of poison in its wake, clinging and exploding on an enemy when colliding with one. This off-kilter spell takes a little getting used to, but it’s ideal for small gaggles of weaker foes in the early game.

6Threads Of Fate

Damage over time can be quite useful inTiny Tina’s Wonderlands,as it chips away at the slew of beefier foes and bosses in the game. This is certainly the case with this unique legendary, known as the Threads of Fate. The spell is essentially an orb of death, which fires multiple streams of strong rays, honing in on foes and melting any that cross their path. The spell falls under thechannel castcategory, so it will need to be charged for a bit when casting. However, the steady stream of ample damage output is worth it.

While this is commonly found deeper into the game, players can reach the spell well before reaching level 40 (realistically midway through the campaign). This allows for ample time to get acquainted with its unique mechanics and refine one’s build around the spell. Players can obtain this coveted spell by going to theAncient Obelisk in Crackmast Coveand slaying the bossLissa Iron Wrought.

5Reviver

Thosewho favor survival and co-op gameplaywill want to seek out this live-saver of a spell. The Reviver is a legendary that inflicts significant damage (depending on its prefix/suffix) while healing and reviving downed allies. However, this will also work on builds that use pets, such as theSpore Warden.

This handy spell can be found fairly early on from any loot source, though players will want to go toWeepwild Danknessand slay theMushroom Healerfor the best chance at getting one. One drawback to consider is that the spell has a sizable cooldown compared to many, so players will want to use it wisely. Still, it really makes a difference in a heated battle, especially when dealing with bosses and Badasses.

4Barrel Maker

This explosive spell is most commonly found fromPigwart in Mount Craw, though it can technically be obtained from any loot source if one is lucky enough. The spell isuseful for newer playersas it inflicts quite a bit of damage in a quick and simple manner. It tends to resemble a grenade more than a gimmicky or elaborate spell, which mainlineBorderlandsfans will recognize.

Players will toss a barrel in an arc, which blasts after a few seconds or upon impact andinflicts elemental damage. Aiming is required, but the explosive nature of the Barrel Maker allows for a degree of error, as it’s an area-of-effect spell.

3Magic Barrage

This spell varies somewhat in its variants, being manufactured by Arken, Conjura, and Wyrdweaver. Yet, it is consistent in its ability to crank out ample damage on multiple targets. Living up to its name, the Magic Barrage unleashes projectiles that blast upon impact and ricochet, hitting nearby enemies.

The spell can be viewed as a glorified grenade, one that excels at blasting beefier foes. It also has a high ceiling despite its early availability. This is because Magic Barrage produces a chance to tack on additional projectiles, amplifying the already huge damage potential of the blast.

2Twister

Those seeking out this elemental spiral of destruction will want to pay a visit to theBanshee in Weepwild Daknness,or the barfing rabbitsin the Chaos Chamber. However, players with enough lucky dice can find this legendary spell in any loot source, even early in the game.

This spell is both fun and useful, as it unleashes twin, straight-shooting spirals that hit all in their path withtwo types of elemental damage. This stressing of elemental attacks makes it a great fit for various builds, and proves a great crowd-control spell for smaller baddies. At the same time, the spell ensures plenty of damage over time, making these wars of attrition easier to handle for newer players.

Tiny Tina Wonderlands Twister spell fire and ice whirlwind approaching Zombie

1Greatest Spell Ever

While it may not quite live up to its tongue-in-cheek title, this Conjura spell can make a huge impact midway through the game—and its power can hold up even near the end of the campaign. To get it, players will need to unlock theeighth main quest,The Son of a Witch, and speak with Dryxxl in Karnok’s Wall. Initiate the sidequest he offers,Spell to Pay.The quest will require various locales to reach and baddies to slay, but the reward is well worth it.

When using this spell, players simply snap their fingers twice when in range of a target, inflicting a one-two punch of major fire damage. Not only this, but the impact takes the form of a swift whirlwind of fire, dealing area-of-effect damage to those nearby. This one checks most of boxes: it’s quick, powerful, and mechanically simple. It’s particularly great for thosestressing fire-heavy builds.
