Twitch streamer xQc has accomplished something he’s been working on for nearly two years, retaking theMinecraftspeedrun record in his contentious rivalry with fellow streamer Forsen. SpeedrunningMinecraftfrom beginning to Ender Dragon is no simple task. It requires an optimalMinecraftworld seed, randomly generated, followed by precision execution and perseverance. For xQc, he’s just glad that it’s over.

TheMinecraftfeud between xQc and Forsenhas been ongoing on Twitch since late 2020, with the two trading “records” speedrunning the game several times over. In April 2021, Forsen retook the record from xQc with a time of 20 minutes and 38 seconds. It was just 7 seconds faster than xQc’s time of 20:45. In other words, xQc and Forsen remained at a near-identical skill level inMinecraft. Yet xQc has been unable to reach the heights ofMinecrafthe’d previously reached in the two years since, until now.

xQc has been grinding hard at Forsen’sMinecraftspeedrun record in recent months.xQc even went viral in Decemberfor one particular run where he raged after his shovel’s durability ran out while digging for flint. The work has paid off, however. xQc beat Forsen’sMinecraftspeedrun record on Wednesday, January 4. The time he finished with was an impressive 20:05.651, beating Forsen’s record by around 32 seconds.

Comments made by xQc after he completed hisMinecraftspeedrun included, “I am done with this ****,” “It’s done,” and, “I’m ****ing shaking, dude, I don’t even know.” Suffice to say, this is a special moment for xQc, even if right now all he’s feeling is relief that he can stop playingMinecraft. In a partial explanation, xQc said, “It’s been ****ing two years of this ****, man.” Now it’s Forsen’s turn to try and retake theMinecraftspeedrunrecord, if he chooses to.

The response from xQc after he retook theMinecraftspeedrun record from Forsen is entirely understandable. He’s put a lot of work into it. But it also goes to show how much the teasing and jokes have likely bothered xQc, who has hadissues with anger on Twitch prior. Two years is a very long time to try and retake the record, and xQc was more than capable of doing it in 2021. It had to have been utterly exhausting and deflating not being able to retake the record for so long.

As is fitting for xQc, hisMinecraftspeedrun record is not without controversy. xQc went so far as to hire aMinecraftcoach to help give him advice and guidance to get a faster speedrunning time. He also installed a variety of mods to optimize his speedruns, though they’re allowed for official speedrun timing. Forsen has said he doesn’t need a coach, because he’s a “God Gamer.” He’ll just have to retake theMinecraftspeedrun record to prove it.
