Thermal comfort is easy to forget about inTwo Point Campus. Keeping staff members happy, managing finances, keeping hygiene levels afloat, andhelping students to graduateare all much more urgent jobs, so smaller details can easily get lost. Thermal comfort makes a big difference to the happiness of everyone on campus, and it doesn’t take much to manage it, especially if players get into the routine of checking the heat levels from time to time.

A good thing to remember inTwo Point Campusis to install any heating or cooling equipment in the room building stage. If the university is located in a cold area, place a radiator in the corner of each room. If it’s located in a hot area, place an air con unit instead. Getting into the habit of including these will take care of thermal comfort straight away.

How To Assess Thermal Comfort

It’s pretty straightforward to assess thermal comfort inTwo Point Campus. Go to the small eye symbol in the bottom left-hand corner, then click on the thermometer. This will give players a color-coded map of their campus buildings. Red areas are too hot, and blue areas are too cold. Players should aim for yellow overall, which will give students and staff a nice balanced temperature.

Looking at the thermal comfort levels gives players an instant idea of how balanced the temperature is on campus. Ideally, every time a playeropens a new campus building, they should check out the thermal comfort situation to make sure they don’t need to add heating or cooling items.

Heating

Some universities are located in cold areas, so they need heating items. There are a few to choose from:

Regular radiators are small enough to slot into tight spaces. They heat a small area around them, and they’re perfect for more compact rooms. They’re a little cheaper than the large radiators, but players will need more of them, so it may be more economical eventually to place large radiators instead.

Large radiators are perfect for corridors and big common areas. For example, if players have an open area with seating and food outlets, this is the perfect spot for large radiators. It’s easy to forget about corridors, but heating is needed to stop students and staff from freezing as they dash from room to room. Fire pits can only be placed outside; they cost $500 and heat a large outdoor space.

Cooling

Some campuses are set in warmer areas, and players will need to place air conditioning units to cool things down a little. These include:

Air con units are small and can be tucked into the corner of each room to bring the temperature down a little. Air con units cool a small area around them, but they require maintenance by janitors. Wall air con units are a little neater. They save floor space, and they cool down a larger area. They also require no maintenance by janitors, making them useful items. However, they do cost a little more than regular air con units.

Individual Campus Requirements

Most universities inTwo Point Campusdon’t have any heating or cooling requirements: they’re at the perfect temperature already. However, a few require heating and cooling. The cold universities areMitton University,Spiffinmoore, andBlundergrad. Spiffinmoore, in particular, needs a lot of radiators, and players will have to heat outside areas too, using the Fire Pit.

Meanwhile,Urban Bungleis a hot university. This is one of the harder levels in the game, and managing budgets while installing enough air con to keep students happy can be tricky.Good money managementis key here, as players can quickly run out of cash to keep everything afloat.
