Leaks for the highly anticipatedGrand Theft Auto 6have been springing up all over the place, although as to whether they have been real, it’s all been a resounding “no.” Rockstar doesn’t have much incentive to makeGrand Theft Auto 6right now givenGTA 5’s persistent success and even though that virtually guarantees that any actual leaks or announcements won’t happen anytime soon, some people still take the opportunity to troll any die-hard fans.
Granted, some of those same die-hard fans have been scouringGrand Theft Auto 5andevenRed Dead Redemption 2in search of any potential hints or Easter eggs that Rockstar might have left in place. To be fair, these specific leaks popped up on March 29th, 3 days before April Fools' Day, so it wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary for one person to intentionally fake the leaks. Either way, they don’t come with much evidence supporting them, so fans and gamers alike should take them with a heavy side of salt.

The biggest claim of the leaks is a fully realized “Project America” that would allow the player to travel to five different cities, with a sixth city currently in development. The new map also apparently includes the current map ofGrand Theft Auto 5. The leak also states thatGrand Theft Auto 6is finished and could be coming far sooner than thought. The poster ends it with a tentative “get ready.”
Dedicated followers of the leaks surroundingGrand Theft Auto 6will probably remember the title “Project America” from leaks that sprung up back in 2019. Those leaks, in addition tofeaturing more than one city, also introduced the possibility of a female protagonist. Of course, a heavy amount of the leaks surrounding that were confirmed to be false, and as Rockstar won’t let the curtain up on its end any time soon, it’s best to take this as what it probably is - an early April Fools joke.
That said, that Rockstar is taking its time to properly announceGrand Theft Auto 6isn’t a bad thing at all. With the rocky launch of expected competitorCyberpunk 2077launching CD Projekt Red into a sea of complaints and refunds, fans already want Rockstar to take its time in makingGrand Theft Auto 6. Part of what factored into the failed launch was the announcement nearly a decade prior, so chances are Rockstar wants to avoid a scenario like that entirely.
Grand Theft Auto 6is rumored to be in development.
